800 Maple offers a variety of choices. You can start out by ordering a fresh salad, an array of appetizers or a pizza baked fresh in an open wood burning oven.
We made reservations, which are recommended, especially for Fridays and the weekend. We were seated right away. Our server was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.
My husband shared some Maryland crab cakes with our friend. There were two crab cakes to the order and my husband said they were the best he's ever tasted. The complimentary bread basket has an assortment of breads with a tomato-type sauce and comes with a generous amount of bread.
My husband and I both had the rack of lamb served medium. It came with acorn squash puree, carrots, green beans and asparagus. The lamb was tender, juicy and seasoned well.
Our friend had the Mahi Mahi. The fish was tender and flaky.
We each had dessert. My husband had the peanut butter pie with chocolate. I had the pumpkin cheescake with bourbon whip cream and our friend had the mixed berry gelato. None of us were disappointed in our desserts.
The side of the restaurant opposite the bar is quieter should you want to be able to converse with your friends. You can, also depending on the table you are given, watch the chef bake in the open wood oven.
