Eastern Pearl has always been clean and they have good prices. It is very Americanized, however I suppose that's what people like. The menu is huge and everyone can find something, even if they're picky.

This is not your typical red and black decorated Chinese restaurant. Tastefully decorated and tasty food. The Orange chicken wad the perfect blend sweet and spicy. The wonton soup was not a bowl of salt. Generous portions..enough for lunch the next day.Good value.

Our food was great! We have been here before, and were underwhelmed. Maybe two years made a difference. We got fried pork dumplings, which were good. The sauce was a little thick, not quite 'authentic.' We also ordered a plate of water spinach, and it was a much larger portion than we needed. It was stirfried with garlic, and good. The entree we shared was chicken with celery. The surprise was this dish! Very good! In addition to fresh celery and white meat chicken slices, the dish included two kinds of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and carrot slices. The light sauce was a brown with ginger. We enjoyed it with rice.

Went here on a Sunday with a large party (12). The service was absolutely terrible and the kitchen didn't have a clue how to get our food out. First round of drinks came out right away, but the server never came back asking if we wanted refills or another drink from the bar. We received one entree after an hour of waiting, then 10 minutes later the kids' meals came out (three total) and then another 10 minutes the rest of the entrees came out. I have NEVER experienced something like this. The server was completely flummoxed that we were asking where our food was.

The food -- General Tso's chicken had no spice at all. The chicken quality was excellent, but the sauce was bland. Same thing with the sesame chicken -- bland. The shrimp fried rice needed another minute of cooking and it had no flavor at all. These were the only dishes that I personally tasted.

The bill -- 15 minutes after the last plate was cleared we hadn't seen the check. We asked for it. 20 minutes goes by....no check. We ask again. another 15 minutes, no check. We almost had to walk out. After 40 minutes we FINALLY received the check! Thankfully they ended taking 20% off the check.

This place had come highly recommended, but I would waste my money here again!

We had a coupon, so we thought we would give the place a try! The decor is absolutely beautiful - very high-end. The prices, however, were your regular Chinese take-out. (entrees were $6-8 for lunch and $10-12 for dinner). However, the food was a real cut above. We ordered a few appetizers - pot stickers, shumai and ribs and there was enough food to fill us up! Our main was deep fried shrimp with pineapple. The shrimp were light and crisp - no mouthful of dough! and the pineapple was lightly sauteed to make it sweet - no sticky, sickly sauce.
This is now our favourite restaurant and must go-to when we visit Buffalo.
