My wife and I went to Novel during Restaurant week, when restaurants are often crowded and stressed. Novel handled it beautifully. The server, Carolyn I think, was among the best we have ever had: knowledgeable, fast, funny, and perfectly attentive. Not too much and not too little. My Manhattan was good, good sized, and reasonably priced. Dinner: my wife's scallops were a large portion and delicious, and she liked her salad too. My pork belly app was a little stringy on the bottom, but I've never ordered pork belly before so what do I know? My salmon was perfectly cooked and terrific, nice and juicy and sweet. Dessert was part of the deal, and they just brought some light chocolaty stuff in a parfait glass. Not only was it good, but having only one option on the restaurant week menu meant that they could just bring it out at the right time without consuming a lot of ordering time. This is the first time I've seen a place really plan their RW menu in order to let the kitchen keep up with the crowd. We never felt rushed and had a really good dinner. We'll certainly be back.
