Russell's is a restaurant that cuts no corners. Everything is top quality and the price, though expensive, is fair for the quality you receive. We ordered from the "Dinner for two" menu but did an upcharge for additional items. Presentation was beautiful. My only complaint was that there was too much pepper sprinkled on our food! Even my husband, who likes pepper, thought it too much. Overall, a fun experience

We truly enjoyed the dinner at Russell's. The owner is an icon in WNY and knows how to run a restaurant. We orded from the "dinner from two" menu, which included appetizer, main, and dessert/coffee for around $40. They may think these are smaller portions - but there was more than enough for us. My filet mignon was the best steak that I've had in a long time. The restaurant is large, but they handle the sound well. The servers were discrete but very busy (we went on Tuesday, when the bar has dinner specials), but since I find so many restaurants rush you through the meal, I apprectiated the pace.

Went for a family party. I expect that the dining room shares the same kitchen as a private party, so, here goes. I had an excellent rack of lamb with a pistachio nut crusted with rosemary glace. At our table, one had Filet Mignon, one had a NY Strip, one had a Chicken Oscar, and one had a poached salmon. Every one was a winner. The house salad was a pleasant suprise with a zesty tomato vinagrette dressing over fresh baby greens. Sides for all the entrees were somewhat varied, but all featured choice of potato and fresh vegetables that were heated just to perfection. After the dinner, some family retired to the lounge. It is a very nice bar and the bartenders know their trade quite well even if you are the DD and only having a Shirley Temple. The decor is high-end Italian gardens, warm colors, plush texture, and quiet ambience. Very attentive banquet staff!

Everything we had for dinner was delicious. Be aware that if you like your steak medium rare (pink in the center) don't order it that way as it arrives raw in the center.

We were out to celebrate our anniversary with another couple. We had never been to Russell's before and thought we would give it a try . The meal started out great . We ordered champagne to celebrate our anniversary and a great bottle of wine for our meals. The bread service was delicious, and all of our salads were great. The problem happened with the entree. Although the steaks were very good, my friend had a foreign object in her garlic mashed potatoes. It was a 4 inch piece of plastic wrap . She had inadvertently scooped it into her fork with a bite of the potatoes and realized it after it was already In her mouth! Had she swallowed it she would have choked and this review would have a completely different ending! We immediately called our waiter over, he was horrified and brought the plastic over to Russell Salvatore ( the owner). At this point we expected Russell to come to our table to apologize. Well, we waited, we finished our meals, we had our dessert and coffee and our bill was brought to us, with Russell Salvatore walking back and forth in front of us(as he was seating customers) never even looking our way. So when the waiter came back to get our money we asked him what ever happened as a result of the plastic wrap being in the potatoes, he immediately said he would go talk to Mr. Salvatore and would be right back. Our waiter came back and said that he would give us some chocolate covered strawberries. We were infuriated, we asked to speak to Russell, we again waited, then a manager came to our table, we told him what happened, he immediately said he would talk to our waiter, we told him that our waiter was not the problem , we wanted to speak to Russell. He told us that Russell just owned of the restaurant and that he doesn't take care of problems! This manager told us that they aren't perfect and that was that! He told us to enjoy the rest of evening! Well, for the caliber restaurant that they are supposed to be....I expect them to be perfect! I also expect the level of concern for the customers satisfaction to be important as well. They made no effort to have us leave there satisfied or forgiving of their awful mistake....they just didn't care. Russell Salvatore is nothing more than a pompous unattached figurehead. We will never return again and don't suggest you do either!
