My husband purchased a Jacuzzi Suite dinner package as a birthday present for me. Our dinner was less than spectacular. Cocktails were watered down and the bar area was so loud that pleasant conversation was impossible due to the TVs being set on high volume. But that was just the beginning of our disappointment. Upon entering our room the first thing we were met with was the smell
of dirty feet that permeated
the air. This was probably due to people getting out of the jacuzzi onto the carpeting. There was a strange
location for the sink out side of the bathroom and directly adjacent to the hall
door... not in the bathroom. The toilet seat needed to be replaced.
In addition the air conditioning was very loud
the pillows were lumpy and
the bed was hard. It is baffling to read so many
positive reviews on such a
sub par hotel. We won't be returning.

We drove from Ottawa to see the Greatest Show on Turf airshow at Geneseo then travelled to Salvatore's. This was our second visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed! Since our last visit to Salvatore's they have added a 5th floor. We had a warm and speedy check-in. Where else but here are you likely to observe the owner himself checking out the staff and facilities? We really appreciate the very wide corridors lined with artwork and even cosy settees inviting you to stop and chat. Our room was on the 4th floor. Spacious, fully equipped, including a Bose audio system, an in-room safe and with loads of towels so that you can fully enjoy the spa tub. The walk in shower, large enough for two, is thoughtfully designed with the control opposite the shower head so you don't get soaked with cold water when you turn it on. Are only observation was a somewhat noisy AC system that cycled thoughout the night (very warm night).

We took advantage of the dinner special at Russell's and we enjoyed the fabulous breakfast buffet served with real china and cloth napkins. Dinner at Russell's was memorable. Although our server, Bruce, was looking after a number of large parties our service was attentive. We enjoyed the dinner for two, a $78 dollar value. You may order anything on the menu and be creditied for the $78. We ordered the Russel Special 8oz filet. My wife is very fussy about her beef, but this arrived exactly as ordered and she enjoyed every bite without a scrap left behind. the wine list is very extensive and in every price range. We ordered a bottle of Domaine Jean Bosquet Mendoza, a Malbec wine from Argentina, at $28. This wine was wonderful and I think at this price an outstanding value. Considering that the Sunday night room special is $159 of which $78 is credited for the dinner this whole package is outstanding value.

You can tell the pride of ownership everywhere you look, this hotel is wonderfully unique and we will continue to tell all our friends about our excellent stay and we hope that we can return.

Traveling back from NYC with my family, (husband, myself and 3 kids) we decided to stop for the night. After trying a dozen hotels in the 30 miles radius we were out of options. I am a total hotel snob and am not easy to please. We stopped here on a whim, totally out of my character to try a boutique hotel. WOW, we are surprised. Michael at the front desk told us that he just had a cancellation on the only room available. The room was a king size bed with a Jacuzzi. Michael said he would get us a roll away bed, We took him up on his offer. Michael took time, to ensure we had everything we needed. Brought us extra towels, blankets, and pillows. He really made sure we were well taken care of. He also suggested that we take the kids to Niagara Falls that night to see it lit up. He checked to see what their summer hours were and printed us out directions. We took the 30 min trip to Niagara and was not disappointed. I thought customer service was dead, until we stopped in at Salvatores. The room was clean, well decorated and had a nice homey feel to it. Will probably never be in this part of the states again but if I were, I'd stay here! Thanks for making a crazy, exhausting night PLEASANT!
Oh, did I mention the price??????? Silly cheap!!!

We have stayed at both the old and the new Salvatores in Buffalo. While the old one is fabulous, it is more dated. The new one, Russell's Salvatore's is outstanding. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable and inviting. Even the hallways to the rooms are fabulous ....wide and inviting. Service is spectacular. Russell is ALWAYS there. I don't know when he sleeps. He greets everyone with the same friendliness, like you've come home for a visit. We have stayed before and will stay many times again. The restaurant and bar are outstanding in every way. The steak is to die for and the (included) breakfast is delicious. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: We had the standard King size without jacuzzi this time and it was perfect....as was the room we had...

Staying at Russ Salvatore's Grand Hotel in Williamsville, NY, is always a pleasure for my wife and myself. We normally booked the accommodation/dinner package which never fails to please. Thank you Russ and staff for making us feel so welcome on our 44th anniversary visit.

This hotel has certainly got 'character.' There are some amenities, however, that are styled to be 'avant garde,' but present a usability issue.

Our group included college-educated world travelers, and they were not able to immediately determine how to turn on the faucet, or get the air conditioner to work! Sacrificing function for unique style is typically not a good idea.

It is quite noisy at night, but that is to be found at most hotels — people coming and going at all hours of the night.

The mid-morning staff were quite rude and unhelpful; the afternoon staff were cordial and accommodating.

We will likely pass on another stay at this hotel (favoring a more ‘traditional’ area, like the Hampton Inn), but it was a nice experience to have.
