“A Wonderful Wedding Night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2007

We stayed at the Garden Place for our wedding night in September 05. The cost to us was $159 for a jacuzzi room and we loved it. The Garden Place is known for its "romantic atmosphere" and I've read about the Garden Place in a book that listed it as an excellent romantic getaway. It's more expensive than the typical hotel that we stay, but we thoroughly enjoyed our wedding night stay (except for the fact that a 15-passenger van showed up with all of my family in it). We'd definitely recommend the Garden Place.

This is by far the best hotel in buffalo!! We came down from Canada in December to visit the hotel with some friends who stay there all the time. They just RAVE about this place and i can see why! The decorations were absolutely amazing at both the hotel and restaurant. When we arrived we were greeted by Matt who was warm and friendly. He went above and beyond for us along with the rest of the staff! When we got to the room it was large and spacious. We were able to entertain our friends for a little bit before we took the shuttle over to the restaurant. The food there is amazing! The next morning we sat and ate breakfast in the courtyard with music playing in the background. This place by far is the best for comfort, value, and service!! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Wow, Excellent value, a pleasure from the moment we walked in.
Owned by a family that has run the largest restaurant in WNY for 40 years. The rooms are gorgeous and the staff walks around like they own the place.

The hotel is wonderful. The service was excellent and the rooms are very large and clean. Considering that a wonderful dinner and continental breakfast is included in the price of the package, it is an extremely good deal. For those who want to do some shopping, Walden Galleria is about a 10 min drive. Eastern Hills Mall is even closer. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

My Husband surprised me with a over night stay at the Garden Place Hotel....much to my delight he booked the Honeymoon suite which was incredible. The room was spacious ...with a fire place ....and hot tub.

The room over looked the court yard which was also pretty to enjoy. We also went to Salvatores for dinner with an excellent meal ...I would recommend this beautiful experience to my friends and family and in fact I recommended that we give the gift of this Hotel to our boss , so he could slip away into the adventure of paradise ~Denise Street

During a trip to the east coast we booked a room at Garden Palace instead of staying at one of the nearby national hotel chains. Initially, the room and accommodations met the description and ratings given by TripAdvisor’s reviews and AAA. However, in the morning while preparing for our departure, the toilet overflowed. We immediately called the front desk and someone was sent to stop the overflow onto the floor. At checkout the front desk receptionist, Matt, never acknowledged or apologized for the plumbing problem and our unpleasant experience. When I mentioned it to him and asked for an adjustment to our room charge for the inconvenience and delay it caused to our departure, his response was “It was not the hotel’s fault that the toilet overflowed.” Since the manager was not on the premises, I later wrote to the manager, Mark Jerge, about the problem we encountered during our stay. When I did not receive any response from him, I wrote to the owner to relate the incident. To this day, there has been no acknowledgement from either the manager or owner. Next time we’ll stay at a national chain with high standards that takes responsibility if problems do occur.

  • Liked — Proximity to highway.
  • Disliked — Management did not take reponsibility when problems occurred?

My husband and I booked for one night....we had initially wanted the Marriott, but decided that the price was a little to high for us and decided that the Garden Place Hotel would be much more reasonable......we did not know what to expect since it was rated as only a 2 1/2 star.....but we were absolutely surprised at how clean and beautiful the hotel was....what a delight....everyone was very helpful and courteous...a definite 4 star!!!
