Stayed at the Ritz overnight on a business trip. The room was awesome and looked brand new. Large bathroom with separate shower and bathtub. Comfortable bed and the wood work and trim added a nice touch. There was also a nice desk and work area in the room. Lots of nice touches for the business traveler.

There are two restaurants attached to the hotel and the main floor has an open area with a fireplace where you can grab a drink or something to eat as well. 42 (one of the restaurants) is either on top or near the top of the adjoining residence tower to the hotel but you can access it directly from the hotel. Great views and a good place to grab a beer or cocktail. BLT steak house is also attached to the hotel.

You can tell the hotel is oriented towards business travels and the desk clerk told me that 90% of the people staying there are traveling on business. There is a meeting center on the second floor with several conference rooms as well. Lastly there is a nice work out room and indoor pool on the top floor (10th) of the hotel. Very nice, clean and very modern.

It's a Ritz and acts like one. Good service and great facility. My only complaint is the heating and air has a motion detector tied to it and twice I woke up as the room got warm and I had to get up and reset it. I prefer to leave the fan on at night to deaden noise when I travel and the motion detector set up prevented this. I get energy conversation but this is a Ritz and you pay for it. At least let me run my fan all night and keep the room cool. That being said, it's a great hotel and worth five stars in my opinion.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary and we just wanted a getaway! We opted for the Ritz Carlton in White Plains, NY. We'd heard from several people that it was a good location to train, airport and nice restaurants - We were not lead astray. Prime location where the spa was superb, wonderful service and and great access to New York City and great local restaurants. We did BLTs, of course, but went to nearby Nikos for Greek food (wonderful and plenty) and Aberdeens for GREAT Chinese food!
I would do it again without a 2nd thought!

My husband had done a lot of business trips and Marriott Reward points were building up. I suggested trying the Ritz in White Plains for a few days prior to Christmas to visit with family. Our only requirements were an early check-in and an upper floor. We checked in at Noon and had an 8th floor room on the back side with a skyline view. Since my husband grew up in WP, he loved looking out the window and identifying all the buildings he could still recognize. Never heard anyone else while in the room. The spa is on the 9th floor and the pool/gym on the 10th floor, the top floor. The pool area is surrounded by windows for a skyline view. There is a "residence tower" on each side of the hotel building. They bent over backwards to provide wonderful service, from the moment we arrived until we left. Even gave us a free breakfast when we had problems with the in-room coffee pot at 6am on the first morning. The in-room WiFi was $12.95 per appliance per day. Since we had the laptop and the Kindle Fire, charges would pile up on a 3-day trip. But they only charged for one appliance for one day since we were using Reward Points. Breakfast was expensive, but the quantity and quality and service made up for it. Overall, a fantastic time and we cannot wait for an excuse to go back.

Room Tip: Excluding the suites, the only real variation is the view. So ask for an upper floor. The 500 sq f...

Nice rooms, great food, friendly service, excellent fitness center and spa. If you need to stay in the area you can't go wrong at the Ritz. It's not cheap but worth the price. Ask about packages when you book... Some are good deals!

This hotel is highly recommended for business travelers or a weekend getaway. The rooms are enormous, beatifully appointed, and suprememly comfortable. The staff is friendly, helpful and not the least bit stuffy. The spa is quiet and tasteful, on the top floor with views over the town, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of services offered. The lobby bar/restaurant is a bit chilly, so ask for a table near the fireplace. Drinks are pricey but wine pours fairly generous. Dinner at BLT Steakhouse was quite good, but breakfast in the lobby restaurant was just OK. Starbucks is across the street if you just want a quick latte in the morning, and a large shopping mall is steps away. We used the hotel as a local base to explore as far north as Hyde Park (FDR home) and to visit family in the area. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views generally but it is not a high-rise. Soundproofing was excellent...
