Description: Benjamin Steakhouse owner Benjamin Prelvukaj and chef Arturo McLeod have combined over 35 years in the steak house business, 20 of those at the famed Peter Luger's in Brooklyn! Since the opening of their Midtown Manhattan location in 2006, they have become a Mecca for steak connoisseurs. Now, with this new expansion, they bring the glory straight to the heart of Westchester County. Benjamin Steakhouse offers juicy cuts of dry-aged beoof-from 36-ounce Porterhouses to juicy, tender Ribeyes and succulent filet mignon. White Plains' decor may lok familiar to those who have dined at their Manhattan location, as well, with their signature dark wood floors, banquette seating, and burgundy booths in tow. The main dining room will also feature on oversized fireplace-a signature of Benjamin Steakhouse from day one. Whether it's a romantic rendezvous or boisterous family dinner, Benjamin Steakhouse is sure to please.

The setting and the food at Benjamin Steakhouse are exquisite! Wonderful, large wine selection, a beautiful dining room, outstanding service, and excellent food! We went at 5 pm after a long day, and without a reservation, and had no trouble being seated. However, I would recommend reservations for weekends. Going back very soon!

I went with my Family for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, otherwise we probably would not have opted for steaks for everyone. The steaks are delicious, the service and decor are as you would expect at a steakhouse, aloof and gruff. Because of extremely favorable reviews in Japan, notably the creamless creamed spinach, Benjamin is a mecca for Japanese businessmen, visitors and ex-pats, both in White Plains and New York locations.

Phenomenal food service and preparation. Was ahead if all the other steakhouses we have been to in westchester ny. Waiter and staff was attentive and orders were not only expertly prepared but any changes were totally attended to. Overall a 5 star experience.

My wife and I have been to virtually all of the top steakhouses in the New York area and I'm very pleased to say that Benjamin Steakhouse in White Plains is one of the best.

Our food was top notch, our ribeye steaks seared to perfection and so juicy. It was huge but I devoured every last bit if it. Our sides - broccoli, mushrooms, and a baked potato - were also outstanding. Even the appetizers, our ceasar salads and thick bacon slice, were very tasty. We left stuffed and fulfilled.

This is a high-end place and the service was equally outstanding. Our server, Jack, personally introduced himself to us, and we thanked him for the outstanding job he did. I can't recommend this restaurant any higher.

This may sound picky but if you advertise yourself as a high-end steakhouse then we have certain expectations.

We did not have a reservation so we expected to be directed to the bar to wait. The hostess left us standing there with no info for 10 mins & then told us to follow the man in the suit who didn't speak to us, just walked toward a table for 4. They left the table set for 4 people. Later removing a few glasses and giving them to the next table (what if we used them?). If the hostess had any common sense or training, she would have directed us to the bar!

The waiter immediately arrived with menus & wine list asking if we'd like a drink. We said we would order a bottle in a minute. He took his time returning for our wine order and took our dinner order at the same time. We ordered a $125 bottle of wine and saw him with it in his hand while he served a large table nearby. A smart waiter would have delivered our wine right away. He then treated us as if we had never ordered a bottle before and didn't know we should taste it first. The appetizer (baked clams) took a long time and were mediocre. The food took a long time and after the server plated the steak for 2, he realized that it was not for our table. He walked away to doublecheck the order/table # with the kitchen and my husband took a bite of the steak. The server then returned, replated the steak from our plates onto the platter & SERVED IT TO THE NEXT TABLE!!! When our food was delivered I asked if it was on someone else's table bec that's disgusting -- he said it was ok bec the server knew the people he gave it to. If my husband hadn't seen the food come from the kitchen, we would have left. The steak was mediocre and not medium as requested (more well done than we wished) but we decided to eat it & get out of there. After our meal the waiter cleared all of the plates at the same time but reached across me with the sharp knives hanging off the side of the plate, pointing at my face. He then offered us cordials & dessert from the manager because of the incident with our meal. The manager never came near us. We ordered espresso & cappuccino which he pointed out would not be comped, 2 cordials & 1 streudal. I specifically asked that they space the drinks & dessert. The coffees came at the same time as the cordials. The cappuccino was barely hot. The streudal came 15 mins later and was also mediocre. He should have known (or asked!) what I meant by spacing! Doesn't everyone want their dessert with their coffee?

We were not charged for the after dinner drinks, coffee or dessert but that didn't make up for the lack of professionalism.

We will not go there (or any of the other Benjamin Steakhouses) and we will not recommend it.
