We took advantage of Restaurant week & brought our family of five for dinner. We all had a great time. The kids (3 under 8 y/o) very much enjoyed being able to dip their own fruits, vegetables and bread into the cheese. The main course was very good and there was more than enough food to fill us all. Dessert was absolutely delicious. A lot of fun for all and who doesn't enjoy fruit, cakes and brownies dipped in chocolate!! Our server was extremely attentive, very nice and great with the kids. The atmosphere was great, the place was clean and so was the bathrooms. We did get a lot of food but still feel the restaurant is quite a bit pricey. They do have something called Dip rewards and you can accumulate points to receive a gift card. We will be going back when our card has a lot of points.

The waitress disappeared more than once. I asked for a drink refill, and she came back over 20 minutes later. I know this because i cooked all of the rest of my food before i even had a drink. She then disappeared again, while we had the pot steaming in front of us for quite some time. It was extremely over seasoned and very SALTY (we ordered the "classic" 3 course dinner, during restaurant week.) The manager came over, and had to clear down our table because she didn't come back. and again, over 10 minutes after he cleared the table, she came over and my friend and i tried to tell her how salty the vegetable broth was, and she disagreed with us 3 times saying that it was not salty. Did not apologize for not returning with my drink (i am 7 months pregnant by the way.) Did not apologize for the saltiness of the broth, and did not seem to be bothered by the fact that we were sitting there for over 2 hours. (i know this because we put 2 hours and 30 minutes in the parking meter, and had 4 minutes remaining when we got to the car)
Who wants to sit in a restaurant waiting for the waitress for over 2 hours over and over? I'm glad i had nothing else to do the entire night. Not only that, we had to ask the other waitress to find our waitress so we can get our check. She didn't even bring the other waitress over, she brought the check herself. Good thing because we would have went over our meter if the other waitress wasn't so attentive. it was an AWFUL, SALTY experience and we will never return! I am telling everyone i know about how you will get an argument if you try to say the food was not good/too salty. Maybe if she was checking her tables, she could have checked the broth herself. Disgusting. Will never return.

This is the perfect place for a catch-up session with friends or a romantic dinner. It is a little pricey but as a once in a while indulgence is OK.

Our company had it's holiday party here, so it was great to experience it one someone else's dime - I would have felt cheated if it were mine. Much effort goes into style, rather than substance. For our first course we shared a classic swiss fondue and a southwestern cheddar one. Both fondues were adequate, with 4-5 ingredients mixed at the table. Dippers were bread, vegetables, and apple chunks. Even a novice cook could have easily assembled these. Next we had a relatively small salad that DID contain very tasty candied pecans. Entrees were various proteins (or one vegetarian offering) that are stewed at the table in a choice of vegetable or chicken stock (they have fancier names). Once again, serving size was less than expected for the price. I wondered why anyone should pay that much to boil beef/pork/duck/chicken in stock? Food quality: meats/seafood seem to be high quality. Of course, all of these items cook at different rates so it's impossible to gauge when anything's properly cooked.

A few administrative negatives: The sinks in the bathroom only poured ice cold water (it's December in NY!). There was no light in the fully enclosed stall in the bathroom - I should have brought my night vision goggles. The tile floors throughout the restaurant were coated with a sticky film. The restaurant has a policy not to sit anyone in a party with a reservation until all have arrived. The restaurant is in the basement of the building, with an industrial-looking staircase the only way to access.
