We stayed at Dillon Hill because a family member was getting married close by. We had family members in one of the cabins and two of the other rooms in the main house. Nina was so accommodating when we booked the room, shuffling people around so we would all have a place to stay. We arrived around 8:30pm, far after we had anticipated and we were greeted with a smile and some excited and friendly basset hounds.
The main house had a large front porch on which adirondack furniture was located. Inside, the common rooms were wonderfully decorated and cozy with a fire place and piano. Although I was there in the summer I was dreaming of playing board games in the living room by the fire during a winter storm. Our room was spacious and was decorated with nice touches making it really feel like a home. The bathroom was well lit and the shower had a nice large head and perfect water pressure. The window in both the bathroom and bedroom had a nice view to Nina and Mike's garden out back. All the rooms appear to have been redone and are immaculate. The bed was so comfortable, and the ceiling fan provided a breeze. I slept perfectly each night I was there.
My favorite part about our stay were the breakfasts! Nina is an amazing cook. The stuffed French toast was to die for! And the broiled grapefruit sweetened with maple syrup has been a regular part of my diet since I ate it at Dillon Hill. To add more amazing-ness to it, Nina cannot eat the food she makes due to allergies, so she cooks by eye and by what she thinks might go together.
Dillon Hill far exceeded my expectations and I plan to return to experience other seasons and more delicious breakfast goodies! :)
