“Great Stay!!!!!”
Reviewed September 8, 2007

I stayed at the Bath & Tennis Hotel with my family over Labor Day weekend. Although the rooms do need some work, the service that we received made up for it all. The girls at the front desk were more than accomodating and gave us all of the information that we needed. The staff by the pool was great and got us towels right away.

The Hotel Manager was very professional and helped us with getting all of the information that we needed seeing as we came to the property looking for information to purhcase a unit there.

We did not get to meet with General Manager but since it was Labor Day weekend, he was probably just busy with various tasks around the hotel.

We would definatley return to the Bath & Tennis and are already thinking about reservations for next summer.

Absolutely fantastic location but you must know you are staying in 'beach rooms." With that in mind, there is nothing better in the area.

The Westhampton Bath & Tennis hotel is not cheap - I have paid less for a room at the Four Seasons. And with prices like that, one would expect service, any service. The front desk was often empty, and there is a voice message when you call.
Our room was gross and noisy. Fixtures hadn't been renovated in decades. I would not recommend staying here to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

  • Liked — The only thing that was good about the hotel was the location, which was convenient to the wedding venue.
  • Disliked — The decor of the room, the noise level, the lack of competent service.

We stayed at the Bath & Tennis hotel for our wedding weekend as the wedding was taking place at Atlantica which is adjacent to the hotel and is (fortunately) under separate management. While I cannot sing enough praises for Atlantica, there is not enough room to detail the atrocity that is the Bath & Tennis hotel. The rooms are small, dreary and look as if they have not been renovated in years. The bathrooms have those cheap, plasticky, tiny showers with no water pressure. The service is non-existent at best and arrogantly obnoxious at worst. I can understand not getting special treatment as the bride and groom - for the best hotels should treat everyone as VIPs. The management of this hotel understands the need to treat all guests as equals, but in this case, they treat everyone as vagrants. The hotel basically gets away with lousy rooms and service due to the location. But I would advise anyone visiting Westhampton to avoid the hotel or risk a ruined vacation or weekend getaway.

I had my wedding at the restaurant and ballroom here which was amazing and perfect- did not know the hotel would not be as nice..our room wasn't bad - beachy feel (not worth the $) though - the pool was perfect - the view of the ocean was beautiful. The air conditioner was very cold, but the sink was clogged... our guests had a horrible stay and the staff at the front desk were awful - rude, impolite, and snotty. They need to hire and train their staff on customer service - the only nice people were those at the restaurant (who are not affliated with the hotel) and the housekeeper. Don't use the spa or hair salon! The techs were 1-3 hours late and I got to my rehearsal dinner very late - no discount offered - the hairstylist didn't listen to what I wanted and did what they thought was nice..they are also not affliated with the hotel or restaurant. The Holiday Inn Express East End in Riverhead was where most of my guests stayed and they offered a discount when they gave me the wrong room - stay there - it's nicer!
Bottom line - the restaurant Tierra Mar and Atlantica ballroom had wonderful staff and a beautiful wedding - steer clear of everything else at that hotel!
Sorry to my guests that stayed here.... :)

Expensive (Holiday Wedding guests)$589 per night plus $50.00 Tax per night. Showers not working and Air did not cool room. Windows stuck shut took two to get open and mold on the ironing board. coffee pot broken and ice cube tray leaked. No room service or ice service. Had to get ice from restaurant and took 20 minutes. Would not recommend. No rebate offered for problems. Also stained furmiture. Seasoned travelers and room was by far worst we've experienced. Pool and grounds were nice and restaurant was very good but expensive. Missing drawers in dressers also. Mgmnt. did fix shower to acceptable but that was it.

  • Liked — The location and the grounds (right on the beach)

We stayed here due to the wedding we attended at the Atlantica across the street, very motel-ish, paper thin walls, you could hear everything in the adjoining rooms, hard to find ice machine, small room and very small bathroom. It was clean, however, it did have an odor, beach i guess, the rate was reasonable at 179., I'm glad it was off season, I could not imagine paying more $$ for this type of accomodation. It was what it was for the buck and for what we needed, a flop after libating and dancing, good enough.
