My husband and I go to Brick House to escape the crazy pace of life and this is the perfect environment for it. When we stay there in the winter season we usually have the place to ourselves and our hosts are so great at making sure we are comfortable. It is like home without the chaos...we love it and will keep going back.

In all honesty it was like staying with family. Very comfortable, very helpful. Gave numerous suggestions. Booking was easy and location was excellent. Id recommend getting a limo (adventure limo) was great. After a long day of trying various wines it was a nice place to lay your head down and breakfast was excellent. Definately go to 21 Brix: The New York wineries are definately far more superior.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent

The Brick House is a charming historic bed and breakfast with very comfortable rooms, a lovely ambiance, and terrific, full breakfasts. Quality coffee, teas, and homemade snacks are also available, as well as very nice toiletries in the rooms. Lori and Randy are most welcoming and very helpful with area recommendations. We stayed one night on our way to Cornell and another on our way back a few days later. The latter trip was the day before Hurricane Sandy struck the east coast. My husband had a required webinar changed to the morning of our final departure, and our hosts were most accommodating in helping facilitate the necessary connections. We will definitely return on our next trip east.

Room Tip: Both king rooms are most comfortable.

My wife and I stayed over on a weekend that for the DeVaul's was one of upheaval, they were sending a youngster off to college. In advance we were able to secure reservations for an overnight Saturday stay.

Even though we were not planning on arriving until Saturday evening Randy and Lori arranged to have someone there to meet us if we arrived unexpectedly early. Instead we rolled into town a little late. As we were gassing the car up in a nearby town Randy called us to find out when we would be arriving. Being relatively close he gave us directions that got us to the B&B faster and saved us a little toll $. Sweet!

It was our first B&B stay. We asked for the whole nine yards of explanation and got it. Randy is knowledgeable about running a B&B (from our perspective), the history of his property and answered our many questions about his structure and the locale.

Being a special weekend for the hosting family we ended up as the only guests. After dinner at a local restaurant that evening my wife and I sat on the front porch swing and drank a few brews. We spent a little time in the rocking chairs on the back porch that evening as well.

Our room the Grape Harbor was well appointed and had several pieces of old furniture. I've got no problem spending some time drifting away in one of the antique chairs and imagining the others who sat, dreamed and talked in them. I really enjoy places that offer that opportunity. We made it a point to lounge on the various period pieces of furniture in all the common rooms. The bed was comfortable, the sheets sweet and clean. Our shower and bathroom was clean, the toiletries provided by Brick House B&B were nice.

At breakfast the coffee was great and the OJ delicious. We (I) did make a valiant effort to finish everything that was prepared for us but there was no chance. The bacon was devoured as were the eggs. Do try to finish all of the homemade breakfast croissants. Simple and delicious.

We did miss the opportunity to mingle with other guests But Randy made a special effort to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

Thank you Randy, Lori and family!

My wife and I have stayed here twice and always enjoy it. The Brick House has a great ambiance and friendly staff. Our first visit was purely due to the convenience of a location near our family, however, we knew when we returned we would stay here again. The architecture and furnishings make you feel warm and welcome, coffee and cookies are always available, and free internet is always nice these days.

I do have a few minor critiques to an almost perfect bed and breakfast. While some people like flavored coffee, it would be nice to have plain coffee available. Possibly plain coffee and flavored creamers could be a solution to keep everyone happy? Another thing that stands out to me each time I stay here is the significant presence of religion in the bed and breakfast. It's not a negative for most, but I can see it being a turn-off to those who do not practice the same religion as them or none at all. We also noticed some dust and cobwebs on the bedposts in our room and my wife's allergies acted up while in the property(and cleared up when we left the building). We didn't experience this the first visit and it wouldn't deter us from going again.

I would recommend the Brick House to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Westfield area. You won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back.

Randy and Lori have a large, beautiful house here in Westfield, NY.
Their breakfasts are overwhelming, and the house is really, really a home away from home.
Everything is clean and welcoming, and we do wish we had planned to stay here longer.
Thank you Lori and Randy for an unforgettable stay.

We have stayed in only a few B & Bs, but this one is very special. The period furnishings create a romantic ambiance, from the entrance hall to the living rooms, dining room, grand staircase and bedrooms. Lots of nice little extra touches, like heated mugs for evening coffee, tea or hot chocolate; the large living room has lots of seating, a big screen TV and a large selection of videos to view; a second living room with a Fussbal table, a Scrabble table, popcorn, table games, books, a piano; the bedrooms are very comfortable with heated bathrooms as well as individual serving-size cans of Welch's grape juice and a souvenir mug. The innkeepers/owners are very gracious, accommodating and helpful. We have stayed in 2 different rooms and both were very nice. We stayed here at Christmas last year and the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The location is convenient to Lake Chautauqua and the wine region of western New York. We would stay here again.
