Some come just to drive around and take a driver's seat view of the grounds. That takes 30-40 minutes. If you allow 2-3 hours take your time viewing Trophy Point with its cannons and the Hudson River views, the Cadet Chapel's architecture, stain glass and largest organ and walk through the Visitor Center's cadet exhibit. For another 1-2 hours go next door to the WP Military Museum to view a very large collection of military weapons and uniforms. Depending on the day and time of year there are both free and admission performances at Ike hall, Cadet Chapel or Trophy Point. Check the west point website for upcoming events. This was certainly a visit that was worth a day trip.

This is a not to be missed stop. The views are beautiful, but the sense of pride in our country reverberates everywhere. Take a tour so not to miss the details. It is well worth the trip. Catch a sporting event if you have the time.

Plan to see the cadets parade, enjoy a tailgate, and watch Army football all on one Fall Saturday! A majestic place to see part of America's history - the weather in the fall at West Point is usually spectacular, and you will not see any better vistas. Interact with our nation's finest young men and women, and be sure to check out Black Knight's Alley before the game. Get there early (if you want to see the parade). Wear walking shoes. There isn't a bad seat in the stadium. After the parade and tailgate, get to the stadium early to see the sky divers. Enjoy!

This is a beautifully majestic campus which is also a snapshot of American history. After a brief delay getting through security you will work your way into a beautiful school campus which is also an active military base. Make your way to Trophy Point to see the views up the Hudson River. Some of the best views you'll see anywhere.

Took the ferry from New Jersey up the Hudson on a Saturday afternoon as part of a football weekend package. The trip up was great with views of New York City, the Statue of Liberty, and the countryside. The approach to the academy from the water is spectacular with the stone buildings rising from the side of the mountain. There is just so muchto see and a recommended stop is the cemetery which hold many great American soldiers including John Buford (one of the unsung heroes of Gettysburg) and General Custer. The football stadium is a great place to see a game, a smaller venue but the cadets keep the energy high. I look forward to a return visit.
