This is a truly wonderful B and B in a lovely part of the Coromandel. The hosts are perfect and they leave no stone unturned to make sure that you stay is as good as it possibly can be. The rooms are stunning with contemporary style and everything you could need plus some little surprises. And the breakfasts are the best we had in New Zealand. We will go back when we are next there for sure.

Room Tip: The cottage is wonderful with a wet room shower and beautiful comfortable large bed.

Appreciate those nice positive comments especially from people as well-travelled as you two. You know you will be made most welcome for that next visit, and it will be our challenge to keep up those breakfasts ! Hope D's leg is now on the way to recovery.

John and Lee are the most friendly and attentive hosts. They made our stay super special and we missed them when we left! The accommodation is excellent, the breakfasts delicious and the locationis stunning. We look forward to our next stay. 3 nights went too quickly.

On arrival we were given a lovely welcome & then shown to our unit (detached). This was just what we wanted, very well presented & certainly kept that way during our stay. John & Lee gave us a super breakfast each morning, that really set us up for the day. We both felt very relaxed at the end of our stay & a great deal of this was down to, the attention John & Lee gave to everything.
We would most certainly reccommend Flaxhaven Lodge to anyone, looking for a quiet relaxing few days, in a lovely setting.
Very many thanks to John & Lee

Thank you. It was a pleasure hosting you both. The relaxing experience you mention is surely a great deal due to the very special location where we are privileged to live. Also very much is due to the kind and considerate people you are, which we really appreciated.

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night. Attentive hosts, great privacy, superb breakfast and great local knowledge. A swim in Flaxmill Bay and a meal at the recommended "Eggcentric" made this stay a memorable start to our lightning tour of NZ

Really appreciate your time to make these positive remarks. It certainly was a "lightning" trip but you did energetically manage to do a lot of the special things in our special part of the world. Would love to host you both for a little longer next time.

We recently stayed here for 5 nights. John and Lee are greta hosts, and the cottage we stayed in was most comfortable. Walking distance to Flaxmill bay and Lonely bay, and only a short drive to 2 of NZ's top attractions, Cathedral Cove and Hot water beach. Highly recommended

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the cottage!

Thank you Lotuseaters42, your response made our day! It reinforces the lovely area we live in close to beaches and the main attractions. Your beautifully presented recipe is now in our folder so thank you also for that.

We selected Flaxhaven Lodge mainly because of the wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor but also because we had been to this area in the past and knew it was a part of the country we wanted to revisit. Lee and John are delightful hosts and straight away made us feel comfortable in sharing their little piece of the world. The cottage is situated in their well designed beautiful garden and each morning we opened the curtains to enjoy the lavender and citrus just outside the window.
We had absolutely everything we could need and appreciated the little touches such as biscuits and fresh flowers in the cottage. We left Flaxhaven Lodge feeling refreshed and relaxed. Thank you again Lee and John.

Flaxhaven Lodge has so many wonderful revues on tripadvisor, it's hard to think of any superlatives that haven't been used!
My wife and I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed meeting John and Lee. They really are the most charming hosts. We had many a giggle with them in the relaxed atmosphere.
Breakfasts were delicious and informative at the same time. The self contained cottage is beautiful and the setting idyillic.
Just up the road is the ferry to Whitianga. 3 minutes later, you're walking to your favourite restaurant.
Flaxhaven Lodge is a real gem.
Thank you John and Lee for making our stay so memorable,
Andrew & Val.

And THANK YOU Andrew and Val for being your happy and natural selves. We did appreciate your attitude to life and your obvious consideration of others. Hopefully, having now experienced Mercury Bay, then in summer you will be exploring our fabulous coastline in your "new" boat !!
