Having read so many positive reviews and encouraged by everyone to visit this amazing attraction, I was somewhat disappointed with the actual experience. Perhaps I have been spoilt in the past travelling the world or perhaps my expectations were too high, but I did not believe the hype was justified.
Yes, I definitely agree that it is an interesting concept, but it is, as another reviewer so eloquently summed up, as being a bit like Disneyland with fake rocks, caves etc. There were essentially two pools - a smaller warmer pool which i found more relaxing as it was quiet and secluded, and a larger pool that was busy and loud with other tourists. The kiwi crush cocktail was delicious and the food platter was acceptable.
It is a novelty. If time permits, it's worth visiting especially if you can spare $30 for an hour. Not worth the day pass, unless your aim is to sip more cocktails in the pool, which obviously requires time. Bit pricey.

This was an experience I will never forget! On entering you could almost imagine being in a tropical island nowhere near NZ! We enjoyed an hour of soaking in various pools while sipping on cocktails. Massages and day packages are available which I would recommend for that girls weekend away!

This was a magical experience. It is like little hidden Garden of Eden in Whitianga. We went at sunset and got lost going to the Lost Spring - it is down a little driveway that looks like a path to another home. There were not a lot of people when we were there, which probably made the experience better. Pools and baths were nice, it was especially nice to have poolside service of drinks and food. Once inside, you cannot see any of the surrounding community, just trees and stars. This was a highlight on the trip.

The locker setup, locker rooms, and showers were not very nice. Maybe they will improve these in the near future.

Lonely Planet makes a quip about it being a cross between the hot pools in Rotorua and Disneyland. They're kinda right! Fake caves, waterfalls, and lava flows with Hawaii style "relaxing music", but excellent service and genuinely relaxing! Drinks in the hot pool? Yes, don't mind if I do.

Entrance charges are eyewatering, but it keeps it "resorty". You have been warned.
