This was the last place we stayed in WA and it really did feel as if we'd left the best to last. From the moment we walked in on a quiet midweek night and were upgraded to one of the suites, through to leaving four nights later we were royally looked after by Geoff and his team.

The hotel itself is small and very new (refurbed). Rooms are large, well turned out and have very high levels of kit - our room had not one but two large plasmas. Bed was very comfy and our bathroom was larger than several flats I've lived in.

The main bar/restaurant area is very well done. Lots of brown leather chairs and sofas and a huge double sided fireplace which was on the go each evening. Very atmospheric. Food was competent, wine list good. At times, it felt more like our own front room rather than a hotel and all members of staff were extremely attentive.

Geoff was fantastically kind - marking our maps, recommending places and even arranging on our last day a very, very late check out which I know will have caused the hotel inconvenience.

You know when you see adverts for hotels that go on about the welcome you'll receive and how hospitable it will be? This is the place. A very comfortable, well appointed hotel with outstanding people working there.

I'd give it a 6 if I could...

What a fantastic place to enjoy our honeymoon! This boutique hotel has undergone a major refurb making you think it was only just built from scratch. We were greeted by the most friendly staff who gave us a guided tour through the whole property. When we made it to our room it was "amazing" as my wife described it. Out stay here was for 10 nights. It wasn't long enough. The owners here have left nothing out when it comes luxury. Our room had everything, 2 huge plasma tv's, dvd players and foxtel in both bedroom and living area, kitchenette with only the best equipment (according to my wife, she loved the scanpan) king size bed, 2 bathrooms a huge shower and double spa. A private outdoor courtyard with sunbeds etc feature in every room. The gardens and walking track around the property were fantastic every morning before making our way to a fully cooked breakfast (included in the price) on the hotels outdoor deck was great. Dave's omelettes are a must. As you make your way down the steps from the deck you come across one fantastic pool and spa. Fully surrounded by decking with sunbeds and plenty of shade the pool was perfect. A truly modern boutiqe hotel most of the time you are in complete privacy and hardly notice any other guests. The service of this family run business is second to none and i can't recommend windmills highly enough.
Don't be fooled by driving straight through to margaret river, windmills break is the perfect place in a perfect location to see the whole of the Margaret River Region.
We will definately be back.

From check-in to checkout, we were treated royally by the wonderful staff at Windmills Break. I cannot rave enough about the service, the rooms, the food and the overall amazing hospitality. Absolutely everyone who works at the hotel has a vested interest in its success and it shows. I highly recommend staying here and exploring the fabulous surroundings of the Margaret River wine country. The Friday night BBQ is so yummy; My husband asked for three mains!

This place has just been totally refurbished and presents as new. It was beautifully clean and we were looked after extremely well. A delicious full breakfast on the deck was included in the price each morning. The grounds were gorgeous. The highlight for us was the swimming pool and outdoor spa set in the gorgeous gardens. A luxury holiday which we could highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about Windmills Break. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, the food was great and the grounds were lovely. They have a small number of rooms (around 10) all of which seemed very private. Ours had a large spa bath (two champagne glasses were placed beside the bath - nice touch) which was great to relax in after a hard day's wine tasting and eating at the many great spots nearby. The owner Geoff made us feel very welcome - he was very willing to share information about the region and took the time to help us make plans on a number of occasions. While there are plenty of activities to do and places to visit near Windmills Break, it's also a great place to relax in - with a tennis court and pool set in their lovely gardens. Another plus - the breakfast. Their gourmet breakfast (eggs, bacon, tomatoes and delicious mushrooms) was up there with the best cafes and restaurants in the country.
