“Peaceful haven”
Reviewed January 4, 2017 for a stay in October 2016

Tucked away in the bush with a sweeping view through the valley to the sea and a glorious sunset weather permitting. All mod cons - handy for Dunsborough and Margaret River attractions. We have stayed before and the property does not disappoint.

“Fantastic property, great for young families”
Reviewed July 2, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed here with another family, with a total of 5 kids ranging in age from 2 to 6 years. The sleeping arrangements and play room were spot on for 2 families but could easily accommodate more people. The house itself was spacious, with a stunning vista over the large grassed (fully fenced) yard, through the bushes and out to the ocean. Drinks on the deck of an arvo were fantastic.

The house was immaculately clean and the yard was very neat and tidy. The queen beds were super comfortable although the 2 main rooms could easily accommodate an upgrade to a king size bed in each. The lounge area was spacious and inviting with the log fire below the TV. The kitchen was really well appointed with appliances and amenities well above standard, however, we were surprised that there were no plastics for the kids given the family-orientation of the property.

The only other minor downsides - the house is very chilly and we had expected the ducted AC to have heating but it didn't. There are radiator heaters in each of the bedrooms to take the edge off but, with young kids, they're not ideal. Also, in the second bedroom, the sound of the water pump was noisy through the night. Not a deal breaker though.

There are many, many positives to this gorgeous property, including its locale, and we will definitely be back.

“The ultimate getaway, location and accomodation - just perfect”

Where to start....A gorgeous house in a stunning location. If you're looking for spacious holiday accommodation then this is it. Easily & comfortably sleeps 10 people. The beds are wonderful, kitchen is fully equipped and the house is beautifully decorated. Every need is catered for from a huge selection of DVD's, jigsaws etc. in the kids breakout area for rainy days to the large lawned outside area with covered BBQ, decked seating area surrounded with natural bushland. Fully air conditioned with a wood burning fire for the cooler months this house welcomes you with open arms. Beautifully quiet and an amazing spot to star gaze on a clear night. Plenty of wineries/family dining restaurants on the doorstep or a short car journey away, the centre of Dunsborough being just 5 minutes away. Two downsides are 1) Free Wi-Fi but speed not particularly strong, understandable given the location and 2) We couldn't stay for ever!

“Great local base for active family/families”

We rented Chynoweth with two other families, making a group of 6 adults and 5 kids for along weekend in the Yallingup area. It proved to be the perfect base; stylish, functional, and with more-than-adequate facilities for our group.
The location works well; with most attractions in the area only a short drive away, or indeed, cyclable if you prefer two wheels. On a functional level, the two wings of the building allow some to sleep while others carry on, and the humble rear entry is convenient for loading/unloading gear (kayaks/bikes etc) and washing off the days' accumulated sand.
The amazing, airy main room, open plan to the kitchen, and opening onto the deck and garden made every kitchen venture seem classy and memorable. Better yet, the entertainment room soon happily became the kids' domain. And while we originally made plans to do a lot more with our weekend, by the mid afternoons we could most frequently be found playing soccer on the lawn, or spectating from the shady sidelines with a drink in hand. Speaking of lawn, this soft green space carved out of the forest is a really peaceful setting that almost manages to capture the sense of wildness and isolation of camping.
