After spending a dreadful night in a cabin at the nearby Yallingup Caravan Park we quickly checked out of our tiny, grotty (not to mention leaky!) cabin and moved to the nearby Seashells Yallingup. We paid about $80 more a night than we were paying at the caravan park – but it was seriously worth TEN times more! We had a large upstairs apartment which was just lovely and overlooked beautifully manicured grounds. Being right next to the fabulous Caves Hotel, with its terrific restaurant, was a real bonus! I can’t recommend this place highly enough – we left there to go to a Five Star resort which was lovely, but not a patch on Seashells for cleanliness and comfort .. Larraine Easby

We stayed at Seashells for two nights of relaxation and really loved the property. We had a one bedroom apartment and it was spacious, comfortable and clean. Everything you would need to self cater and also with a built in laundry. The view from the balcony over the gardens to Caves House is lovely. We ate at Caves House and thought the meals were really good Pub food, also being walking distance we could try some local wine as no driving required. The walk to Yallingup beach is nice and we did that a couple of times. I think it's a great location, close to most everything in the region but feeling tucked away from everything gives it a really calming vibe, at least when we were there. I suspect the summer sessions at Caves House might change that to a degree. We would absolutely go back, for longer.

Dear Huskiesx2,

It is great to hear you enjoyed your stay and had everything you needed in the apartment. I do agree the outlook to the garden is lovely and the ease of access to the beach and Caves House does make for an enjoyable stay. I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel soon.

Went for Thursday/Friday so quiet, which was what we wanted. Apartments are really well maintained, clean and very comfortable. Previous writer said he could live there, I agree. We are at Caves hotel for dinner the 1st night, good pub food, though if I was staying at caves would be disappointed. Not many places close to eat in the evening, though facilities to self cater are there. Would I go back, definitely.

We had a one bedroom apartment for 3 nights. The unit was well equipped with washing machine, dryer, iron and dishwasher. We ordered a breakfast hamper which was excellent, containing local produce. It is a good place to stay for visiting Margaret River and Dunsborough. We stayed out of the school holidays so the complex was very quiet.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. But the office closes at 5pm. We had a relaxing stay and will not hestitate to return.

Room Tip: Rooms a way from Caves Hotel.

Dear Woodie0,
Thank you for taking the time to review Seashells Yallingup. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the Lamont’s breakfast hamper, I agree they are excellent, we also have a number of other hampers from Lamont’s that are popular, all with local produce - the ‘Gourmet Breakfast & Antipasto Hamper’ and a ‘Cheese and Wine Hamper.’ These are definitely worth considering for your future stay. We hope to welcome you back soon.

We stayed here for two nights on a wet weekend, original plans were for exploring the local area and attractions, but the weather ruled against that, so we spent quite a bit of time in the apartment, reading and relaxing.
The one-bedroom unit was very well kitted out, comfortable, and warm despite storms raging outside. Cooking facilities were better than many places with everything needed and in very good condition.
Will happily stay there again.

We recently stayed in a studio spa room at Seashells Yallingup. Having stayed at Mandurah Seashells resort in W.A., we were certainly expecting a property of similar standard. However, we were very disappointed to find that our room was extremely small and was in an undesirable location, right next to the local hotel. We had a lot of luggage, so we needed to use the lift, which was at the opposite end of the resort.
Also, my husbands feet hung over the edge of the bed....he is 6'2 so not a giant!
We were very glad that we only had one night booked at the resort.

Dear Lyn F

I am very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your time at our hotel, our Studio rooms are normally well received. Should you consider staying with us again, I would recommend to you our One Bedroom Apartments. These have a large bathroom with separate shower and bath, large bedroom with a King size bed or 2 singles, and separate living area, balcony and terrace plus full cooking & laundry facilities. Thank you for taking the time to provide a review.

We had planned a three night stay, and very quickly decided to stay longer. The two bedroom was appartment clean and comfortable. The laundry facilities were great to have, as we were on a long trip. The kitchen was well equipped, and the dishwasher was a bonus. The location is great for visiting the wineries of Margaret River.
The bedrooms were very spacious, and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom facilities were clean and in good order. The only disappointment was the water pressure in the shower was a bit pathetic.
We were located at the Caves Hotel end of Seashells. On the first evening I was concerned about the noise level from drinkers and diners on the terrace, and how late this would go on. This was all quiet by 8pm-ish, and there was the same pattern each night, which was no problem at all.
The two things which stopped me giving this five stars:
- given the price, I would expect some daily servicing of the appartment without paying extra
- it would be helpful if the reception was open a little later in the evening
However, these points would not stop me from returning when next in the area.
