“Very, very overpiced”
Reviewed November 10, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here during peak period and paid a fortune for a very basic room. Would not recommend staying here for the price they charge per night, I would rather catch the ferry home at the end of the day and save my money. Thought the room and service would be exquisite for the price, but disappointed. The courtyard outside had a lovely view but didn't look as if it had been cleaned from the previous occupants as there were cigarette butts all over the floor.

We stayed here one night to spend two days on the island. The hotel is situated right on the beach, bike hire place just behind, and 3 min walk to the general store etc. The room was clean and simple, but overpriced for what you get. That said, this is a "captured market", choices are few, so this wasn't a bad choice. As others have said, rottnest itself is worth the expense. Made life simple being able to walk 30 secs to hotel restaurant and bar. Staff we're lovely and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work.

Room Tip: I don't choose hotel rooms for the view....I get out of the hotel for that. That said, all the r...

Perfect place to waste away the day. Drinks were a little pricey, even with Perth standards. Paid $23 for two drinks... Steak burgers were fabulous, completely melted in our mouths. Prices again were high though $52 for 2 burgers! Great music, great vibe and perfect place to people watch

Rottnest itself is worth the trip/expense and this hotel is in a great location. For overnighters it's probably the best place to stay, although it's a bit pricey for what you get (we paid $250 for what was essentially a nice motel room). If you intend staying more than one night, I suggest investigating the many other options available. Having said that, our room was bright, clean and had a great view of the ocean, jetty & mainland. The restaurant was fast and the food well prepared, and was about what you'd expect to pay for meals on an island. Our only complaint would be that on departure, one's bags are collected by a contractor for Rottnest Express ferries and ours ended up at the bottom of the luggage "cage" underneath three eskies. Needless to say, they ended up squashed and so did everything in them. Perhaps this is something the Hotel needs to be aware of as it is a service they offer their guests. The very best thing about the island are the iconic quokkas and the coastal scenery. Walking is a great alternative to bikes, there is a hop on hop off bus service for a small charge.

Room Tip: I can recommend the rooms which face the ocean.

This was a really interesting place to visit. It isn;t until you gain some back ground on the Island that you can understand it;s fascination for tourists. You can walk around the island and view the huts when you leave the museum. I actually saw some kwoka;s I think that Rottnest Island is the only place that they exist in Austalia. This is a real gem for some authentic history regarding Aboriginees. Definitely would recommend worth a visit.

Stayed in a room overlooking the bay. We had an additional rollaway in the room and still had heaps of room.
Close to everything going in Rottnest. Reception welcome was a great start to our long weekend. Bike rack close to room.
Pub served up great food and although very crowded service was excellent.
Will definitely be going back again

The rooms are clean and modern. It's located close to the village and restaurants, which is great if you like people (and crowds)!
The pub is good - ok food (overpriced, but that's Rotto for you) and sports on tv. Music on a Saturday night is great.
All in all, good!
