We had waited for 30 min before being served at 35 degrees outside . All very expensive and the dessert had been forgotten and we have to go back to the counter to ask and pissing the waitress off. Service poor , ambiance poor and food as a fast food . Leaves of salad yellow , pizza for kids a the size of a cup plate . A joke

Have visited the Black Cockatoo a couple of times during my brief time in Kojonup and both times it's been really good. Angus beef foccacias are very good, as are the chips with aioli. Coffee surprisingly good too. We visited on a warm day and it was really nice to sit outside and wander around the rose maze afterwards. On my travels around WA I've found that every small town has one really good cafe and I think this is the one in Kojonup.

On the regular 500km drive up to Perth we always head to the Black Cockatoo for a coffee, and depending on the time, maybe a meal. Food is always tasty with generous serves. Chips with aoili very bad for you but yummy. Clean toilets! If you are not in a hurry (and the roses are out) wander around the rose maze next door. It's free and you will learn something about 3 pioneering women of the district.

We stopped here on the way back to Perth from Albany for a bite to eat. It was a spur of the moment decision but proved a good choice. One of our group requires gluten free which can sometimes limit food choice, not on this occasion though. The food arrived reasonably promptly and was delicious. I recommend the chicken and Brie focaccia. They also advertised "great" coffee do ordered one for the road - it was great. Thoroughly recommend giving it a try if your passing through.

We regularly stop at the Black Cockatoo Cafe in Kojonup and it is always a pleasure. The food is always fresh and very well priced. Coffee is excellent, tea is served in cute teapots.
If you are in a hurry they put together takeaway very quickly.
The atomosphere is lovely and relaxing especially if you are taking a break from a long drive. You can sit in the sun and enjoy the views of the gorgeous rose maze next door.
The loos are always clean - which is welcome when you have driven for 2 1/2 hrs from Perth!
The menu changes regularly and even with a recent change in chef the standard and quality of food is top class.
From flyers around the cafe they regularly hold special events at the cafe.
Definitely worth stopping on your way to the southwest of WA (or from). :o)
