As one of the other reviewers said, 'like a cross between a hostel and a motel'. This is a modest, friendly, convenient, great little place, perfectly fine for winding down, a comfy night and meeting fellow travelers if you want. It's also a great choice if you are keen to self cater, which can be a good idea in exy-mouth. Prices all over the joint are a little blown out of the water by miners on danger money, including at this place, but by comparison with the majority of other options Ningaloo Lodge offers some value.
The biggest plus was the comfy beds - not your stock standard hard hotel bed thank God! Turning off the fridge and aircon overnight cuts the noise to acceptable levels, and having your shower in the morning rather than evening will reduce the need to go in and out of a wet bathroom; - the showers are not enclosed, just a curtain around them so the floor tends to get pretty wet, though rest assured it does dry pretty fast in Exmouth weather.
There's a laundry you can use after the hotel have done all their washing (after 12) and it's nice to see the sheets drying out on the line so generally the place smells ok, rather than infused with petrochemical deodorants and perfumes.
The kitchen and dining area is a big room with pretty much all you need including plenty of freezer space for re-freezing your ice blocks. The fridge door gasket was on the way out so using the mini fridge in your room might be an idea. You'll have to content with Aussie washing up standards with all the utensils, and the tea towels are about the most hydrophobic I've tried! Probably has something to do with the local water. Exmouth water is foul (full of calcium) - buying your own is recommended (apparently kidney/gall stones are common amoung long-term residents). There are also benches and tables and a BBQ in the nice little courtyard, under the palms, beside the little but decent enough pool.
The staff are good, friendly, down to earth Aussies. Accommodating, honest, laid back and helpful. If you need to leave your bags they'll tell you they'll be fine in the communal living room, and they probably will be but you can always use a padlock if you worry.
NL is very central, which is handy in a sprawly old town - the little shopping area is in easy walking distance, just a block or two away (hot walk though!). There's also some good food at the Caravan Park just opposite (walk around the block to get to the main entry and the restaurant/EXCELLENT Gelati bar.
I wish there were more places like this around the country (perhaps at more reasonable prices though...).

Room Tip: Probably the ones on the back are quietest and most private. View on the pool is an option if you pr...

The owners are so lovely and welcoming, it's a little hard to describe the place you will have to go yourself to understand.
There is a massive kitchen with everything you need and extra there is a fridge full of sauces, spreads etc that you can help yourself to and the laundry has complimentary washing powder. There is a nice lounge room and games room the pool is beautiful and the outdoor area is nice also. The rooms are quite small but comfortable the only bad thing is that the hot water doesn't get very hot. 5 stars if you ask me!!

Loved our 4 days staying at Ningaloo Lodge! The warm hospitality and amazing sense of home that surrounds the whole place is lovely. The kitchen and bbq facilities are excellent, and make such a different in Exmouth, where dining options are both limited and quite expensive. The common areas with TVs and a pool table, and the swimming pool, just made the trip. Rooms are simple but very comfortable. Cannot recommend Ningaloo Lodge enough!

As one reviewer said "it's a cross between a motel and a hostel".
There is a large and adequate kitchen with plenty of frig space. Free tea and coffee. The rooms are small but comfortable and most have been recently refurbished. There's a good laundry. It's a friendly place and people sit around and talk and you can exchange information on good tours, fishing, snorkeling, diving, whale and whale-shark watching and bird watching. It's handy to the shopping centre and visitor centre. It's not that far by road to Cape Range NP. Only in WA would it be considered cheap but for WA it is really good value. Ronnie will make you welcome but check with her because I heard a rumour that Rio Tinto had booked it all next year. I hope not. I wanted to return.

It is a nice mix between a motel and a hostel. Our room was nice though the bathroom was a bit old and dated and had a shower curtain. The room had a small fridge which was nice but we didn't need it and we unplugged it because it was noisy. The kitchen and dining common rooms are fantastic as is the games room.

Although clean, the rooms are small and basic. The shower was only luke warm for all 3 nights and the shower water spread out beyond the shower curtain. The hot water tap screamed in protest and the hand basin taps both leaked. The rooms had no sound proofing and the TV must have been the cheapest available. Would be good for backpackers if at backpacker prices. The communal kitchen was the only highlight. No room service or clean towels over 3 nights (very small towells)
