We only found out about this activity when I started reading up on the Cape Range National Park. It is not a long tour, but a pleasant outing with terrific opportunity for spotting animals and birds. The boatman knew his stuff, telling us a lot about the area and being sure we spotted all the highlights.
One of the reviews below suggests a kayak, and that could have been great, too, for those who like kayaking. You would have to plan in advance to do this... check out the map and distances. We walked up the trail afterwards, but did not go far on the uphill rocky part, where you would have to go if you were trying to see animal life - it was pretty rough (not sure a naive person would be able to spot wallabies even if they were visible - they are very well patterned to blend into their environment).
