Ningaloo Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 2 Exmouth B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 20, 2012

We stayed at the Ningaloo B&B for four nights in May and thoroughly enjoyed Exmouth. But the B&B wasn't quite what I had expected. John, the owner was a lovely gent who was full of helpful information and tips. His partner (whom I suspect may be the one who normally cares for the B&B) was away on holiday.
The place consists a a relatively new slab home, the east half is the owners place and the west have the guests quarters; three rooms to let, a common TV room and the kitchen area. I had read the reviews about the wonderful breakfasts and I guess I expected a hot breakfast each morning, something I have experienced from staying at B&B's in the past, but breaky was cold cereal assortment, yogurts and toasts with all the toppings. There was plenty to eat, just not what I expected. The other grip I had was the room wasn't serviced. We had to find our own extra towels (John did show us the cabinet with them), and empty our own trash. The sand from day one was still on the floor on day 4.
They do have snorkeling gear and sun shades for the guest to use on the outings, and as I said earlier, John was a treasure trove of information.
The location a few kilometers south of town was nice and peaceful. Signage is small and we passed it the first two times. You definitely need a car hire if staying here as the taxi service is pricy.
I would consider staying again. More for the lovely company then anything else.

Thank you for your review and I'm very glad that you enjoyed Exmouth.

When we first opened we fully expected to service each room every day, but we asked the first dozen or so guests and each one said for us not to do it, so we stopped asking and presumed that people were happy with that. From your review obviously that is not the case, it would be interesting to find out who else felt the same way but didn't say. I will start asking again.
Our idea is that if we can do things to make your stay better we will try and do it, you just need to ask us.

I will check on the website you booked through to make sure it does say that continental breakfast is included in the price but a cooked breakfast is available for an extra charge.

Ningaloo (named after the reef you need to come to this area to see!) is a new B&B property that has three ensuite rooms each with own access/entrances. The rooms are great and well equiped - with aircon/fans/security screen doors so you can get the right environment day and night: important for this part of the WA coast. Lounge and dining area - great breakfasts at time of your choice and all day tea/coffee service. The hosts are well connected to the town and area so they know what and when to see and do and who to talk to. Very quite area out of town just off the main road south and to the airport - a minute in your vehicle or a possible walk over to Exmouth Gulf for a swim. In an remote area where prices can be steep (freight, seasons, economy etc) Ningaloo is great value for money.

Room Tip: They're all good and have verandah access with verandah furnture etc

B&B by Shelia and John seems is the only place in Exmouth with reliable and excellent reviews. My own experience just confirms that fact. Absolutely lovely and quiet accommodation with great service and immediate help with any matters. Tasty breakfast at time of your convinience. Taking into account early pickups by whaleshark and diving operators as well as airport shuttle, that was very helpful to start a day with a proper meal. You need your own wheels to get around as B&B is about 2 km south to the town.

I stayed at the fabulous Ningaloo Bed & Breakfast in October, nothing is too much trouble for Shelia or John. They are very thoughtful hosts, breaksfast was delicious and you can't beat local knowledge to enjoy your days out. The other guests make for an interesting holiday, when you want some quiet time you can sit on your verandah chairs. Loved being able to see ocean and whales from there too!

Room was lovely and clean and I loved the quilt cover - just like the Ningaloo Reef colours.
Thanks and blue skies - see you next time - can't wait to go to Sandy Bay my very favourite beach anywhere. :o)

I can't recommend the Ningaloo B&B high enough! We spent three nights there in early September, and had the most wonderful time. The house is just outside Exmouth, surrounded by the bush ... so is a very peaceful place to stay.

Sheila was a most welcoming host, allowing us to check in early (we arrived on a morning flight from Perth), and making us tea and coffee. The house is very spacious, and there was a lounge and dining room for guest use, complete with fridge, water cooler etc etc.

Our room was a good sized double, with en-suite facilities (shower, no bath). There was ample wardrobe space too, and a table and chairs out on the veranda. We had our own entrance via the veranda.

The continental breakfast was excellent ... all sorts of juices, toast, cereals, muesli ... very enjoyable.

And Sheila was most kind throughout, providing us with information, and getting up very early on our last morning to make us breakfast before we set off on a tour through to Broome.

The Ningaloo is not within walking distance of Exmouth, however, so you really do need a car.

All in all, a great place to stay.

Ningaloo B & B is a beautiful B & B with comfy beds and a super relaxing environment! John and Sheila were fantastic hosts and everything about the service, location and the local knowledge of the hosts was impeccable, as were the breakfasts which were not only filling but fresh and nutritious everyday. We loved every minute of our stay at Ningaloo B & B and were very impressed with the flexibility of John and Sheila who got up to get breakfast fully prepared and on the table by 0630 for us to eat a good breakfast prior to our early whale shark tour.
Overall we were more than impressed with our stay!
