I've done the Open Water Diving Course with Ningaloo Reef Dreaming and the Whaleshark tour and both were astonishing experiences!
We had a lot of diving time with the whalesharks. The boat returned just after nobody wanted to do another dive!
The diving course was also a lot of fun and the instructor was super friendly!

I would recommend this trip to anyone and i am so glad i didnt read the negative reviews beforehand. the crew were first class and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing what is truly a fabulous experience. they struck me as the real deal and were jumping up and down with us with glee. we had 2 hours swimming with 6 sharks but this would differ depending on the day. it is a well thought through trip with a whole lot of logistics behind the scenes and our day was seamless. I would say if you want certainty with your marine life then go to sea world on the gold coast.

A wonderful day out & plenty of time spent in the water with several whale sharks. The crew were very helpful, particularly with those less confident in the water - they even arranged for a very nervous passenger to swim on his own with a shark without the rest of the passengers. We had a researcher aboard who was a mine of information & took photos, we were continually fed & watered & having our own spotter plane was a huge advantage. After the trip the staff were very helpful by email as I had initial trouble accessing the photographs.

We booked a Whale Shark snorkel cruise after a friend recommended it to us. Having read a few negative reviews, we were a bit apprehensive, but decided to stick with them anyway, and SO glad we did!
We were picked up on time by Pip and Jenny, who were both really friendly and lovely. We picked up other passengers on the way out to the boat ramp. The drive out there was really cool, as Jenny (marine biologist) told us all about Whale Sharks which was interesting. She also told us about the heritage of Exmouth and the Aboriginal dreamtime significance in the area. At the boat ramp, Pip (trip leader) gave us the run down on the day so we knew exactly how things would run.
We were chartered out to our funky looking vessel on a glass bottomed boat, which was awesome as we could see the fish and coral below us. We were welcomed aboard Ningaloo Dreaming by skipper Luke and Tom (spotter). We were given a brief but sufficent safety procedure talk and then headed out to the reef for a morning snorkel. Here, the crew made certain that everyone felt safe and comfortable in the water. We saw some beautiful fish and coral, and also had the chance to swim with a turtle!!
We headed back to the boat and once aboard, made the journey to the outside of the reef to look for whale sharks. It was quite a rough day, but Luke was able to navigate us through the reef smoothly and safely. It wasn't long before the crew got the call that the pilot had found several whale sharks in the area and we headed straight towards them. We were split into two groups which was awesome, as it gave us all the chance to swim with the Whale Sharks without being too crowded. Each group had their own whale shark to swim with, which was great, as no-one had to wait a turn. We had a total of about 40 minutes with the sharks. We swam with 6, but our pilot had spotted about 8 in the area. Luke spotted a Manta Ray and alerted us so we could watch it from the side of the boat. After countless entries into the water to swim with a different shark, it was time to go back on board. Our pilot gave us a cheeky fly by, dropping his wingtips and putting on a show for his happy adventurors.
We started to head back into the reef as the crew prepared us a yummy lunch. We were invited into the cabin where they had prepared a huge smorgasboard of cold meats, fresh rolls, an array of condiments and lovely fresh salad to make our own sandwiches. Plenty of water, cordial and hot drinks were supplied throughout the journey.
After anchoring in another part of the reef, we were able to snorkel for another hour, and those that had chosen to dive did so here with the guidance of Tom. This part of the reef was just stunning, teaming with bright blue parrot fish, angel fish and plenty of beautiful coral. We swam back to the boat and dried off, extremely satisfied with our adventures and sightings. We moored in the harbour and Luke gave us a lift back to the boat ramp on the dinghy. We piled into the 4wd grinning and exhausted. Pip and Jenny drove us back to our accommodation and farewelled us with a lovely smile.
All in all, it was money well spent! Ningaloo Dreaming are definitely the crew to go with as they have their own spotter plane, and a super friendly and fun crew. Swimming with a whale shark was a magical experience, one that we will never forget. Thanks to Ningaloo Dreaming for giving us a once in a lifetime opportunity, will definitely be raving about you for years to come :)

Had an amazing experience on the whale shark tour. Staff on board the boat were amazing, great to spend the day out on the water with. Very knowledgeable about the whale sharks and any questions thrown at them about marine life. The organisation of the whole day was amazing, from start to finish we had a great day!
