One of my favourite beaches down south. Always really flat and crystal clear water. Great to take kids, dogs, SUP boards.

A beautiful wide beach with volleyball net set up. Shady grass areas that roll down onto the beach. Water is fresh but crystal clear. Very relaxing.

Meelup Beach is perfect for families with younger children with it's long stretch of sandy beach and clear calm water. Great for little kids practising their snorkelling. The beach has the most amazing showers to use afterwards with excellent water pressure to rinse of afterwards. There is a little place to buy snacks and there are plenty of shady trees to park yourselves under but be sure to wear flip flops / thongs down to the water on particularly hot days. The flies are atrocious but they soon leave you once you're by the water's edge. It is a very busy beach and it's hard to find a parking spot on hot weekends as expected.

We were staying in Margaret River over Christmas and wanted a shady beach for Christmas Day. A few days before we drove to Cape Naturaliste and visited all the beaches and Meelup was the only one with some shade. It was perfect even had a dip in the Indian Ocean. Plenty of car parking if the 1st park is full go a little further and there is another car park.
