This was our last stop on a 6 week tour of OZ (Oct 09) and was the best B&B we had stayed at. We concur with everything said in the previous reviews (which were what made us choose Mt Lindesay View in the first place).

Very classy rooms, fantastic views, superb home cooked breakfast, port and home-made rocky road chocolates when you get back in the evening, and kangaroos on the lawn - what more could you want! We had 3 lovely days here.

The only downside was that there is a shortage of really good restaurants locally in the low season (and none in walking distance). The Mary Rose only opened on Saturdays and was full when we tried to book; the Denmark Hotel is OK (more like a pub); the Observatory was almost empty so not much atmosphere.

Debbie can make numerous suggestions for trips - we booking a whale-watching trip from Albany which was excellent, and drove down to Greens Pool, Elephant Rocks, Waterfall Beach and Madfish Bay - all spectacular.

We stayed at the Mt Lindesay View in February 2008, I had seen the reviews on Trip Advisor before we went, so when the opportunity came to visit Denmark there was only one place we wanted to stay at, we were not disappointed.

The short drive to the B&B from Denmark was lovely and the place was easy to find. First impressions were great and even better once we were inside. We were greeted by Debbie with a cold drink before being taken to our room. Wonderful room beautifully decorated with nice touches such as the Port and Chocolates.

    Superb breakfast..

We purchased a bottle of wine from the liquor store in Denmark, which you can store in the fridge provided for guests, and spent the evening on the veranda in peace and quiet, again watching the kangaroo's grazing.

Debbie and Ron were very helpful at suggesting places to visit and restaurants to go to during our stay.

I would not hesitate to book this B&B again if we were to stay in Denmark . The price by UK standards was an absolute bargain for a B&B of this standard.

We stayed two nights at Mt Lindesay View B&B and were enchanted from the moment when we arrived mid afternoon and Debbie served us a yummy Devonshire tea on the verandah, which looked out over a large expanse of lawn with the mountains and bush behind. Lots of birds (parrots, magpies...) came to the birdbath while we were there and several kangaroos came out of the bush and bounded across the lawn.

The bedroom was lovely, with port & chocolates left for us to enjoy in the room.

We also had use of the lounge (TV & DVDs) and could make tea & coffee in the breakfast room (& cookies provided) to enjoy either there, or out on the verandah (lovely at this time of the year).
Breakfast was yummy- fruit, cereal, toast & a cooked breakfast (I loved the mushrooms- really yummy!) Ron served & Debbie cooked- you could tell they were English by the way everything was so well done.

Debbie also gave us ideas each morning of places to visit- we had a lovely time tasting wines, fudges, cheeses etc on Scottsdale Rd and the scenery at the National Park west of Denmark was lovely- around Green's Pool and Elephant's Rock was particularly beautiful. At Debbie's suggestion we also bought an enormous icecream on the way back- fantastic!!
Albany is only 50 kms away, so we spent a day there as well.

Mt Lindesay View B&B is not cheap- $150/ night, but it is lovely & worth the money if you would like to be pampered & have a special time that you will long remember. Thanks Debbie & Ron!

I'm taking a liberty here because we didn't actually stay at the Mt Lindesay View - we just desperately wanted to! It's a B&B on a road weaving its way above the little town of Denmark in SW Western Australia. We'd arrived in Denmark without an accommodation booking, and were going further and further from town when we came across the Mt Lindesay View ... and were immediately in heaven when we saw about 20 kangaroos grazing on the front lawn. Those lucky enough to have got a room at the Mt Lindesay View were happily sitting at little tables on a gorgeous terrace at the back of the property - - with a view over distant mountains - sipping tea and watching the roos, which included at least one mum-and-joey. We were so disappointed to find the B&B was full. The lady from Essex who owns the property kindly let us stay to take photos and found us a room at a nearby property.

So I can't vouch for the rooms or the breakfast here, but it's certainly a place to bear in mind, especially if you like roos. The animals don't always come to graze, but you usually find them nearby. I'd certainly try to book here if I'm ever back in the Denmark area.

The B&B does not cater for children under 15.
