My partner and I spent 3 nights in the Sanctum, what a little slice of heaven the Cove is. The Sanctum is surrounded beautiful granite rocks, trees and so many wonderful birds and wildlife. The handcrafted cabin was cozy and the pot belly fire kept it warm all night (we visited mid may). The bathroom for the Sanctum is separate from the cabin, the shower is open, one side onto a large granite rock, and open air, but it is still very much private, as long as you don’t mind the occasional little insect that may come for a visit.
We didn’t use it, but there is free access to a row boat to explore the inlet, and there are some great hiking trails around the cove.
I found in Denmark there are not many restaurants open for Dinner, we ate at the Denmark Tavern 2 of the nights. The 3rd night we made use of the cabins cooking utensils and oven and made a nice home cooked meal. There is a Super IGA in town just a few minutes’ drive from the Cove. The cabins are stocked with cooking wear, plates, mugs, glasses, a fridge, oven and microwave. All your kitchen needs away from home.
The owners of the Cove were lovely people, and very informative on Denmark and its surrounds. And the good fishing spots.
If you are looking for a relaxing retreat to really enjoy wildlife, nature and just be at peace. Or a romantic getaway for you and your partner. The cove is the place for you; you won’t be disappointed how stunning it is.
