The camp site is favoured by the grey nomads and I can see why. Great views of shark bay from the second row (it is terraced and is above the first row of beachside sites) and clean but basic facilities. Nothing for the children here which was fine for an overnight stop as playing on the beach kept them busy. A short walk to town or 10-15 min drive to MM.

We stayed 2 nights on an unpowered tent site, costing $35 a night. Our site was basically right on the beach, sadly though this meant that everyone else wandered through our site to get to and from the beach.

The camp kitchen was average, with poor stoves that have blackened our pots. It was the first time that we have ever seen a reserved sign on a table in the kitchen area of a campsite. But later we found out what it was like as bags and bottles were used to reserve whole tables. This isn't the issue of the camp ground as this was to do more with the people staying there but as there were only 4 benches, this probably wasn't enough.

The showers and toilets were clean. Though we found all the signs telling people on unpowered sites not to charge anything or basically use any of the plug sockets in the toilets a little repetitive and therefore over the top.

This is a good base for Monkey Mia, and the sunsets are pretty impressive.

It's close to beach and town. Amenities good, there just isn't much greenery only lots of crushed shell. Friendly place. It's in easy walking distance to the boat ramp, jetties and shops. It is a big park and most sites have an awesome view over the water.

We had a great holiday in Shark Bay and this is definitely the pick of the two parks in town. We had a site adjacent to the camp kitchen and near the beach so were lucky- the park has many levels and I wouldn't want to be up the top of the park as it was very bare. The bathrooms were cleaned to a high standard and the camp kitchen whilst basic was also kept clean. Sites were not overly large, however we managed to fit in- just. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the park was close to a shop, the bike path, the beach and plenty of fishing spots. The ground was hard so sleep not that comfy- but that's Shark Bay with all the Shell Grit! no kids playground or pool but swimming at beach and foreshore good for that. Overall we had a great time.

Room Tip: Ask for a site close to the beach.

Pro's:
Absolute beach front, we were 50m from the waters edge.
Good campers kitchen.
Supermarket very close.
Reception staff were friendly

Con's:
Very small tent sites, hard to manoeuvre vehicle in/out.
No grass.
Rock hard ground, can't put pegs in without a drill (that was advertised and they do offer a drill though)
Noisy pump type noise constantly on/off throughout the night.
Tree sap all over our tent, belongings and vehicle. (probably seasonal, but nonetheless it was unavoidable and made things less enjoyable again)
Showers were hot/cold/hot/cold and the bathroom had a sewerage smell to it.
No hand towels or dryer to dry your hands after washing.
