Owner description: Going forward into history. The Precinct was the original Port of Carnarvon, which comprised the One Mile Jetty, Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage, Lighthouse and the Carnarvon Tramway. Come and enjoy a Jetty Walk, Ride the Coffee Pot Train $10 per Adult, Explore the Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage Museum, Visit the One Mile Jetty Interpretive Centre, Wander the Railway Station Museum and the meander along one or all of the walktrails.

“Watch the walk along the jetty”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

One of the main attractions in the area is the Jetty. Be careful if you take the walk though as there is no railing along one side of it and for the last 100ft nothing on either side. As the boards that make up the decking are VERY uneven it is quite a hazard. Such a facility would not be allowed to function in many countries because of safety concerns. There is nothing to see at the end of the jetty either as it is all locked off. Great for the fishermen but a definite concern for small kids.

“Interesting”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

Enjoyed the trip on the train on the Mile long jetty. All profits going to the restoration of the jetty. The Heritage Precinct was interesting with a few little gems, like the lifeboat from the Kormoran that sunk the HMAS Sydney off Carnarvon.
