“Beautiful place for a relaxing break”
Reviewed May 24, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My wife and I stayed four nights in the paperbark, the accommodation was spotless clean and exactly as shown in the photographs, the location is ideal for a relaxing break or as a hub to enjoy everything that the local area has to offer. Colin and Rita were very welcoming and charming hosts who did not intrude on our privacy during our stay. The spa was a terrific way to relax and unwind after our daily excursions. We will certainly have no hesitation on booking a return visit.

We stayed in the Paperbark unit for 2 nights to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary - and i wish we could have stayed longer! We definitely didn't want to leave and we can't wait to go back! Colin & Rita were very welcoming when we checked in, we enjoyed a complimentary bottle of champagne while sitting in our own secluded spa - which was just lovely. The lights in the spa area at night just make it that much more luxurious. We went for a walk around their beautiful property, the gazebo area was beautiful both during the day and at night - with lights around the dam. The Willows was a beautiful, secluded area to relax - the views of the property were amazing! The room was spacious and the whole property was very well thought out - they really have thought of everything to make this a great place to spend the weekend - or longer! Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Thanks Jess, you are most welcome to return :-)
PS I think the term "champagne" refers to a similar brew made in Europe somewhere. Colin & Rita

“Just perfect!”
Reviewed April 8, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We recently stayed in the "paperbark" studio apartment to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and everything was absolutley perfect! All the little touches made for such a memorable stay. Such a beautiful part of the world, fabulous views of paddocks, rolling hills and a little lake from the front porch of the apartment and many gorgeous wineries, breweries and cafes only a short drive away. If you are looking for somewhere to get away from the hustle and buslte, unwind and relax this place is just perfect! Very luxurious! We had a great time getting to know the lamas too :)
Highly recommended and we are already looking into when we can return :)

Thanks Janic for a lovely review! So glad that you had a relaxing anniversary; you are very welcome to come back anytime. PS Our "llamas" are actually alpacas, smaller and (we think) cuter.

“Gorgeous Stay”
Reviewed April 2, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My wife and I escaped to the country over Easter and found a little gem in Mumballup. We stayed in the smaller "Pepperjack" cabin and found the amenities outstanding to say the least. High quality all around, even an Espresso machine for the coffee snobs. The sheltered outdoor spa was our favourite though, spending every evening relaxing and drinking the fine wines sourced from the many wonderful wineries in the are. The nearby town of Donnybrook is a real treasure also. Forget Margaret River, the Donnybrook, Mumballup, Balingup area is the place to go.

Thanks for your generous comments Ken. We've always thought the Geographe wines were pretty good and the region certainly has a lot to offer, without the crowds and silly prices :-)

“Exceptional”
Reviewed February 1, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Our daughter organised for us to stay at Mumbles for our 40th wedding Anniversary, we were truly delighted with the exceptional facilities, the beautifully decorated rooms, the excellent quality of the linen, the amazing private spa, even the crockery and coffee machine made such a difference to our stay.. I would not hesitate to highly recommend a stay here, you will not be disappointed .

We stayed in Pepperjack for 3 nights between Christmas & New Year it was a surprise that my partner had organised for my birthday.
Everything was amazing very romantic from the tea light lanterns to the fairy lights in the tree above the spa. The alpacas are really cute as well.
Rita & Colin really have thought of everything, loved every minute will definitely be back.

These days I'm apprehensive staying in new accommodation. Many do not seem to share my idea of cleanness. Nothing worse than feeling like you need to clean before starting your holiday! But not here at Mumbles. The moment you open the front door you know this will be great. Afterwards I noticed I took my shoes off before entering. Sure sign I was impressed :). Exactly as pictured on their site. But with so many extras you can't see in a photo - their own hand made toiletries (the divine smell that only comes from natural products), a very nice bubbly that is a must in the spa & a kitchen with everything (could cook up a storm in it). The alpacas are adorable. We will definitely be returning and would recommend for anyone wanting to relax.........
