Beautiful Jewel Cave so glad we did this tour. I'm claustrophobic and was very apprehensive about coin this. We walked through the entrance and it just opened up, it was wonderful and amazing to think we were so far under the ground. The cave was breath taking and we would highly recommend this tour i did not feel uneasy at any time and we would have been in the cave for around 1 hour. Definitely a must do..

“A breathtaking experience”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Stopped in for the tour on my way to Augusta and loved it. Went down with a small group led by our very entertaining and knowledgeable guide Alan. Was absolutely awestruck by the place and thought it was very good value for money with the tour taking up about an hour and cameras are welcome. Highly recommend visiting here also recommend the coffee in the cafe. Thank you to all the friendly staff for the fantastic experience particularly Alan (not George). Be aware that there are lots of steps and it is claustrophobic in some places (well it is a cave after all).

“Quite unusual, very nice!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Even if you seen many caves before, don't miss this one. A wet cave when it was first discovered, it has dried up due to competing demands for water in the region. As a result, the calsified formations on the ceilings never grow thick enough to become stalactites. There are also very few stalagmites and hardly any pillars. Instead, the cave's ceiling is 'decorated' with plenty of glistening 'straws' and pipe-organ type of formations. Definitely something new for me, and I have seen a lot of caves!

The cave is not cold at all, even though it was late winter outside. Admission is $22, 45-mins guided tour only. We managed to get there in time to join the 11.30 am tour. Unfortunately, the area where the special formations were ('jewel box', 'casket', according to a friend) was under maintenance and we were not able to see them.

“Heritage Cave for a reason”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Went to the three south west caves with my 15yo son. We were very lucky to have same guide for both Jewel cave and Lake Cave. thank you Karen as you were both informative and humorous with both presentations. Bring your camera to all the caves and good hiking shoes. The caves are around 15-17C all year round inside the caves. Jewel Cave is up on the World Heritage list or will be shortly. All three caves are so different and unique in their own ways... I loved this cave as it was our first cave we visited but Lake Cave was beautiful too... see all three and make up your own minds and I would do the three again in a few years time... Jewel cave is the slowest growing of the three or not as active. I'd give it a 10 out of 5 any day
