“Most unusual cave”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Jewel cave is one fantastic feature after another, access is by guided tour only.
Be aware that there are hundreds of steps, but there are handrails throughout which makes access fairly easy. Right from the beginning you are able to see every kind of formation, there are no gimmicks in this cave, at some points there are lighting effects, but in general you really see it as it is. There are some really unique things - roots of trees above ground which stretch to the base of this huge cave.
At some points you need to duck or lean to avoid overhanging rocks, but there are no major problems.
Our guide allowed us to go at our own pace and the small group size meant that everyone could hear her.
If you only have time for one cave you won't be disappointed.
There is also an excellent cafe and small shop here.

“Breathtaking!”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Jewel Cave is a local icon fo Augusta It is the most decorated cave for public viewing in the area and is definitely worth the visit. Its a great idea for rainy or hot days, as the atmosphere in the cave is always comfortable! The air can be thin, but not dangerously so, just go slower if you are not comfortable! Really nice walk, 20 mins or so,behind the cave thorugh the Karri trees if a member of your party doesn't wish to pay or go down.

“See this cave first!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Jewel cave is gorgeous and is a very deep, long cave to visit! The entry from the forrest floor is amazing and worth many photos on the way up. This cave has the longest tour and it really educates you about what you are seeing so the other caves are more enjoyable as well. You do get out of breath on the way up due to the stairs and lack of oxygen so if you are asthmatic, bring your inhaler to make it more comfortable. (I'm asthmatic and should have brought it.). Really a beautiful cave! Each cave is different and worth a visit, but start with Jewel!

“Great to see especially on a hot day.”
Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

This was pretty amazing something I've never seen before. It was $22 each and being cool down in the cave was great on such a hot day. So much to see and the tour guide was brilliant, new enough to keep us interested. There was a deal to also visit the other caves near by which perhaps would have been good to see but we felt like we were a bit caved out after the one. Definitely worth a visit if you are around the area.

Taken round by James, he was very informative and made it a really interesting tour. Beautiful cave but the co2 levels were a little high when we were there and I found even I was breathing hard by the end of the climb out and Im quite fit! Well worth a visit
