“Just beautiful”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

Very well designed which makes walking around it a pleasure. Who ever is responsible for the gardens obviously cares a lot about not only the upkeep but also the future of the gardens. Immaculately maintained facilities on a Sunday in particular is noteworthy. It is credit to those who are responsible.

“Wonderful even in winter”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Excellent pathways through the gardens, no slippery or wet areas along the paths, even in winter this was a special place to view.

“Relaxing place with interesting trees”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

Coming from a warmer part of Australia, I find the exotic trees in this garden an interesting change from gums, Moreton Bay figs and and Melaleucas. The walk should only take about 30 minutes but it took me longer as I kept taking photos of the fascinating bark patterns on the stone pines and elms. I was alone but families have lots of options for kids to run off their energy with a children's playground and ducks to feed. There are public conveniences that look new and well kept.

Beautiful trees, walking paths, large playground, BBQ's, shelters (one of which can be booked), clean toilets and all located pretty centrally in Castlemaine.

“Worth a visit or two or three. Enjoy the seasons.”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

These gardens cater for everyone. Use the well maintained tracks around the perimeter to jog, stroll or walk the dog ( on leash of course and with a plastic bag in readiness too.) there are ample majestic very old shady trees and there is always a family or more of ducks on the ornamental lake. The children's playground is imaginative and adventurous with close by tables and benches and electric barbies. There is plenty of grass for laying down a rug and resting with a good book and flower beds to enjoy. The gardens are home to various festivals. They are certainly much loved by my family and visitors.
