“Two Nights is not Enough”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We were greeted on arrival with a choice of beverages and a warm welcome by the proud owners who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to ensure we had a mixture of privacy and service. It is beautifully decorated with a spacious room and bathroom as well as an outdoor deck area. There is also a deck for guests to use, fireside lounge with beautiful books, magazines and art. Our breakfast consisted of a mixture of organic produce of fruit, fresh juice, cereals and eggs done anyway you line and other breakfast sides. Mix this together with the sound of birds and a wonderful panoramic outlook. We cannot wait to go back for a longer stay!

Lily Pily luxury B&B breaks all the stereotypical B&B boundaries. There is nothing outdated, stuffy or invasive. The accommodation is peaceful, private & luxurious - small self-contained bungalow-style rooms tastefully decorated each with their own deck & spa. The hosts are friendly & informative, but not intrusive. Afternoon champagne on the deck overlooking the sculptural garden delightful, breakfasts provided by the hosts are restaurant quality. The hosts were accommodating in every way, especially in providing a booking to the fantastic SMH 2 hatted restaurant No.2 Oak St - which was also glorious. Just book!

We actually live very close to Lily Pily in a beautiful part of the NSW North Coast. I have to say that this is one place I have absolute confidence in placing our overseas guests when or somewhat humble abode is overflowing with fun loving free loading friends. All our mates rant & rave about the food, service, comfort, views and relaxing atmosphere. Lily Pily never fails to impress me as a place that I would seriously consider staying at myself, even though it's just 5 minutes away from our home. It really is something quite special.

This bed and breakfast takes a little finding off the main street in Belligen but it is well worth it. The couple Jeannette and Bruce made us feel very welcome after a moderate journey for the Hunter Valley. We had tea and sparkling wine and were give advice about local restaurants. The rooms have a deck, which looks out across the subtropical rainforest and is alive with bird noise in the morning. Before breakfast I explored the garden, which is extensive and runs down to the river with many interesting plants and bird life. Breakfast was delicious and home made with attention to detail and individually prepared from local ingredients

Room Tip: follow direction to B&B carefully

Top honours goes to Bruce and Jeanette for helping make our weekend getaway one we will not forget. Where do I start: the setting, the room, the view, the breakfast (worthy of a chef hat), the complimentary champagne by the fire, the cleanliness and last but not least the host.

Our weekend getaways are now easier to plan knowing that we will be well looked after at Lily Pily.

Can't wait to go back!

PS Bruce and Jeannette generously donated the accommodation (which we won at auction) for a cancer fundraising dinner. They could not have been more accommodating.

Lily Pily Country House is a treasure! Peaceful house set up on a ridge out of town, with views down to the river. Rooms are beautifully appointed, and the spa bath a relaxing treat on a cold & rainy afternoon! Bruce & Jeanette couldn't be more welcoming, and the home cooked breakfasts were absolutely delicious!! Will be back again in the summer to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine instead of by the fireplace!

We stayed at Lily Pily for the 2013 Easter weekend.

I was thrilled that we were able to get a booking at Lily Pily for the Easter weekend and we were so looking forward to our stay. And what a wonderful stay it was!

Jeannette and Bruce are lovely hosts - thoughtful, informative, welcoming and friendly. Truly wonderful.

The property itself is gorgeous - beautiful gardens, wonderful décor and an absolutely beautiful location overlooking the Kalang River. It is just so beautiful and sooooooo peaceful - I didn't want to leave. Ever. Seriously.

The rooms are beautiful, very clean and perfect for a romantic retreat. They are spacious, beautifully decorated and have a lovely balcony so you can sit outside and enjoy the view.

Breakfast was fantastic, with delicious fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, juices and a selection of hot items freshly whipped up by Bruce. My husband is now a big fan of Bruce's morning coffees! And I miss your delicious brekkies, Bruce!

We loved the fact that Lily Pily is an adults-only retreat as it adds so much to the peace, and allowed us to really unwind, relax and get away from our busy day-to-day lives. And being just a few minutes' drive from town made it so easy to enjoy the fabulous food and coffee that Bellingen has to offer.

We can't wait to return and have already booked!

See you soon!
:)
