I visited Abbey Garden Saturday 6th 2007.
I arrived to Tresco by helicopter about 10 O´clock in the morning. The garden is about 100 meters from the heliport. We looked at the small exposition telling the story of the garden and then paid 9£ and entered the garden.
(You can also sail to the Scilly Islands or fly by plane!)
At that point we were the first to visit the Abbey Garden and we had the garden for ourselves for quiet a long time. Sometimes a small plane flew over the area breaking the silence which surrenders the place.
In spite of being a bit early in the year we saw many flowers. There are hundreds and hundreds of plants and all this in a stunning setting.
Inside the garden, you will find a section called Valhala with figures from wrecked ships. Very coloring and interesting.
Finally there is a cafeteria and a shop in where to buy all sorts of souvenirs including seeds from plants of the garden.
This is a magical garden in a magical spot of England. After visiting it you can explore the rest of the island.
If you love English gardens then this one will seduce for sure...
