One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.
Bad service, arrogant, unfriendly, slow.
Bad value for money at 350 Euros.
Remote but not in a nice location.
Interior design was intersting but not worth going for.

This hotel is isolated on a hillside in a very unremarkable hamlet. The interior design is stunning, however the food is very average indeed. Staff are pleasant enough, but the whole experience left me feeling a bit empty really. Breakfast is adequate at best. Not good value at all at 350 euros per night.

Hotel Villa Sassolini is at least 20 minutes from anywhere you might want to visit so if you are searching for an out of the way place for a 'tryst', look no further. The rooms are very comfortable, the water pressure excellent - however warmth and service are totally lacking. Dinner was less than stellar, especially since I ordered a dish with prawns that sent me to the bathroom within half an hour. Breakfast was a serve yourself non event with unmemorable breads, cereals and bland coffee. There are no local restaurants in the area so it would be necessary to drive 20 minutes to get to one - and the narrow steep drive back at night is not for the faint of heart. The hotel occupies half of a 14th century building - and feels quite cramped. The garden is lovely - however if the weather isn't great, that is not going to do you much good at all. I would highly recommend a group of friends take over the whole place as then there would be some energy there. The waiters and staff are not there to make your stay special - but if you are looking for a place 'to hide' - and don't want to be bothered with dealing with the beautiful Tuscan countryside, this is your cup of tea. There are many other independent Villas in far more attractive settings that I would return to. (Villa Il Tesoro or Castello di Velona for example) This is an overpriced, pretentious place that does not leave you feeling warm and fuzzy.

If you like taupe and cool design this is for you. Very quiet, stylish, and very helpful staff. Andre, the Manager, very good.
Dinner is modest and they'll do what you want if you ask, but the al fresco setting is unbeatable. Some great wines too.
Small pool but adequate and essential. Never crowded. Nice breezed on this high hilltop setting.
Would recommend to some but if you like chintz swags and bows forget it. Also there isn't a bar as such (it's a small hotel); it's like staying in someone's home. Bedroom's lovely, goodish showers. Been open 2 years so in good nick.
About 1 hour drive from Arezzo, Sienna, and Castella in Chianti. Great central country location.
Two hours from Pisa airport.

This Chic Retreat hotel is far enough off the beaten path to give you a sense of the Tuscan lifestyle minus the tourists. Good looking decor is bare elegance, cuisine is the best of the best. One day at the pool will leave you completely unraveled.
We will go again and luxuriate in this secluded villa.
