We had a lovely stay in Anacapri during our trip to Capri. We were really glad we decided to stay in Anacapri since it was quieter and less crowded. But our time at Casa Mariantonia made the trip even better. The room was very nice and bright and had a large bathroom. The grounds were beautiful with a number of hammocks throughout the lemon groves.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered a number of great suggestions on what to do and how to fit it all in during our stay. They scheduled a private boat tour around the island that really made our trip special and was worth the price.

The only drawback during our stay was that it was hard to connect to the wireless Internet from our room, so when ever we wanted to connect, we had to go to the common areas. Not a huge issue but a minor inconvenience.

Should we visit Capri again, we would stay here again.

One week before Easter, we are with locals.. it is cold still. The hotel is quiet but the family make us feel special.

I have stayed in hotel chains globally but what is really nice is the personal service and family. My wife is Italian but that does not matter. The hotel is about service.

Clean rooms and just a warmth feeling. Totally relaxed.

The family created the lemoncello di capri.... so ask for a glass !

The other TA reviews are spot one

We stayed in Casa Mariantonia in September and it was more than I expected! Anacapri is so beautiful and Casa Mariantonia has a very special atmosphere. We spent time in Paris and Positano on the same trip, but our stay on Capri was like a fantastic desert of a great meal. The people, the charm and the peace of this place was unforgettable. The hotel is cosy and very welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The breakfast is on your balcony if you would like it there AND you can have the amazing Lemoncello of Mariantonia every afternoon. The best we had ever tried! I want to find a way to go back soon. Thank you Marcello, Paolo and Ravi! we will never forget you.

We stayed here this July on a family holiday to Capri. If you are unsure whether to stay in Capri itself or higher up in Anacapri then choose the latter, it is wonderful being away from the tourist hive by the sea. Similar to other reviewers we had ordered a transfer from Naples Airport to the hotel. Our plane arrived 30 minutes late, and we then had a ride in the taxi through the congested streets to the port for the ferry to Capri. Unfortunately we missed the ferry by 2 minutes so had an extra wait of around 55 minutes at the port. After a cramped, claustrophobic journey in a ferry to the Capri port we were welcomed by a lady from the hotel. After struggling through the crowds and losing our luggage on the way, we eventually made it to the open air taxi that whisked us up to the hotel. From there it was a 30 second walk to the hotel, which is situated opposite to a kids playground within charming cobbled streets with plenty of local shops for buying supplies and souvenirs. This really is a family owned and run hotel and it shows within every aspect of the tasteful hotel. It is clear that time has been taken over every little detail and the whole hotel's interior is stunning without being over the top. We had rooms on the ground floor including a twin room for the children that was quiet, with a balcony and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was adequate - nothing special and they didn't have a seperate shower, just a bath, but it was perfectly nice. Unfortunately there were small things that weren't working quite right like the TV which didn't turn on, the telephone that didn't work, there were a number of sockets that also didn't seem to be in order, but overall it was simple and pleasant. Our other room was a decent size, again beautiful, and very clean. We were surprised by the lack of a kettle, teabags etc and even glasses but Marcello bought a kettle for our room on the house! We had a balcony that overlooked the small lemon grove with hammocks that is very nice to seat in at breakfast. Saying that, breakfasts were very nice. There was a wide selection of meats, vegetables, eggs, bread, pastries and of course the usual cereals. Coffee was a bit of an issue and the hot chocolate was more like melted chocolate, but we quickly found a decent coffee shop down the road so there was no problem there. The swimming pool is wonderful, it overlooks some rather run down buildings, but they in the distance, and on a sunny day it is lovely to cool off in the water. We had a bit of a problem with the locals, who seemed to be allowed to use the pool. They got very agitated when any children went in the water, even if they weren't making any noise. A bit strange. Overall however this was exceptional. Perhaps the main thing that makes this hotel a cut above the rest is the service, which is outstanding. The two brothers, Marcello and Pierpaulo are the main ones who run the place, and they are extremely helpful, polite, well turned out and friendly. Our daughter, 15, takes music very seriously and was practising for a chamber course she was soon going to embark on. They very kindly allowed her to use the room downstairs (with wonderful accoustics!) to practise everyday and even offered a room for her to stay in free of charge for the rest of the summer so she could play for the hotel every evening! She was very much taken with the idea. They gave us invaluable advice with restaurant recommendations, shops, walks, beaches and buses to catch and were more than happy to book reservations in restaurants, the beach club, boat trips and mainland trips. Note: Buses are packed, and infrequent, if you are off to the mainland - get up early! Their father Guido, was always around in the evening when we returned from our meal to welcome us back. We have a number of suggestions if you visit: top restaurant by far, and without question was Gelsomina, and they have links with the hotel. Stunning setting on a clifftop overlooking sea, and they also have a pool you can use. Food is wonderful. The chairlift was a hit, and of course the museums and gallerys are a must. We also found a wonderful beach club next to Il Riccio, and it was half the price, had two swimming pools and spacious seating area. On one afternoon we explored the island by boat and swam in the hidden caves, including the green grotto, and sunbathed in the secluded beaches. The hotel set this up for us and it was one of the highlights of the trip! We also found The Capri Hotel next to the chairlift to Mount Solaro, and they let us spend an hour in their swimming pool. It was special because there were lots of windows carved into the side of the deep pool and you could see people swimming around and take pictures. I'm not showing it off very well, because it was great fun and you should pop along. We did go on the mainland to see Versuvius, Pompei and Herculanium but it was very expensive and the Italian transport is very tiring! Note: Don't be caught out by the ferries, they aren't regular and the last one to Capri is very early. Surprisingly, the one thing that all the tourists come and see is the blue grotto, and although we thought this would be overated it was in fact amazing and definitely worth doing. We incorporated it into our boat trip around the island. Overall, our trip to Capri was one of the best family holidays we'd ever had, and the highlight of the year. The Casa Mariantonia is wonderul, and service unbeatable do not hesitate in booking it up! Overal rating: 11/10! Simply fantastic.

We stayed here in September. Given the high prices of hotels in Anacapri, our expectations of Casa Mariantonia were very high. So here are our ratings of the various aspects of their services:
We ordered a transfer from Naples Airport to the hotel. Our plane arrived late, the taxi driver was not in the airport when we cleared baggage claim. He arrived 10 minutes after, so we had a hair raising ride to the port for the ferry at Porto Beverello to Capri. We missed the ferry by 1 minute so had extra wait at the port. The taxi drivers explanation of the dock for the next ferry was incorrect, but we were directed to the correct ferry by the person organizing the transfer. Transfer from Capri Marina Grande to Hotel: Our late arrival had been communicated to the agent in Capri. she guided us to the taxi and helped load our luggage into it. From where the taxi dropped us in Capri it is a 2 minute walk to the hotel. we were met at the taxi stand and out bags taken to the hotel. Given the late arrival of the plane, this transfer rates a 4 out of 5. On our return from Capri, we just booked everything ourselves and it worked out fine. No real need for the transfer.
Food: Breakfasts were just fantastic. A wonderful selection of meats, vegetables, eggs, bread, pastries. Much of it cooked on site. Could not ask for anything better. Service was excellent here too. Ravi quickly remembers you beverage preference. 5/5.
Lunch, we ate twice and shared the Mariantonia Antipasto. This too was just perfect with a glass of vino and Acqua minerale. 5/5
Overall service was excellent, the two brothers, Marcello and Pierpaulo are extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, booking reservations, suggestions for places to see or walk to. Where to catch the buses etc. And their father Guido(?) was always around in the evening when we returned from our meal. He or Costanzo would offer us the customary glass of limoncello. This is a real family owned and run hotel and it shows. 6/5
The room was ok, it overlooked the lemon grove had a nice balcony and had the necessary amenities. 4/5
The grounds are really nice, pool is exceptional with plenty of seating. 5/5
The location is central Anacapri, short walk to buses but away from the main tourist area. It is semi residential, lots of kids playing and plenty of shops for buying supplies or food.
We have other recommendations on restaurants in Anacapri on this site but suffice to say, there are some outstanding choices. All within walking distance.
Overall rating for Casa Mariantonia? 5/5.

Very friendly and helpful staff, good food and an easy walk to everything fun in Anacapri. We were welcomed with a free limoncello gelato - delicious and an unexpected treat served in the lemon grove. Moved over to their outdoor restaurant and enjoyed home made ravioli for lunch. Highly recommend this very pretty and very clean hotel.
