Walked this a bit before sunset, felt alone with the ocean at my side, absolutely stunning. If the weather isn't good, don't try it. But the entire trip is beautiful (and educational)!

“Lovely Scenic Walk”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

We've done this a couple of times over the years now and each time have been amazed that no-one else has been on it. I think the tourist board may over-egg the time, which doesn't help. It took us 2.5 hours end to end, plus an hour at either end walking to and from Anacapri, although you can get buses for those bits.

The walk itself is very well signposted, with countless tiles giving historical and environmental information. The forts are actually much of a muchness, with the older British sections being the round ramparts and the slightly newer French bits being the accommodation buildings.

The coastal scenery is lovely, with quite a few inlets reminiscent of the French Calanques, and if you're lucky you might get a windy day and see big waves crashing against the rocks.

When you reach the Grotto, you can amuse yourself by having a bird's eye view of the many boats jostling for position at the entrance.

Given how incredibly busy Capri is, if you like walking, you'll find this route very refreshing, solitary and rewarding.

Do it.....quiet, fantastic views, couple of good swimming spots. Plenty of forts and history, butterflies and nature.
