“Nice but make sure you get a good room”
Reviewed June 24, 2009

We stayed 3 nights in June as part of our honeymoon. Anacapri was awesome and we were SOOOOO glad we didn't stay in Capri, where it seems to be all about Prada and Versace and cruise ships. The breakfast was great, the staff was friendly and kind. They do not speak very much English but we got by in a combination of Spanish and Italian. We arrived via taxi from the ferry, the bus is great but we had a lot of luggage and I was kind of seasick. We took the bus for the rest of the trip and it was great. We were given a room that was like a cell. It had only the window on the door as a window. I was really disappointed and so went and complained to the front desk and we were promptly moved to room number ten which had a door window, a big other window, and a window in the bathroom. Also it had a nicer private patio. We inquired about getting internet in the room which was advertised on a little piece of paper in our room, and we were told there was no internet "yet." I would like to give this hotel more stars but I kind of wished that we had paid more and stayed somewhere where the internet worked and we were able to get a little more tourist information from the front desk. The food at their sister restaurant in Anacapri = THE BEST FOOD WE HAD. It's called La Rondinella. Stay at the Albergo for a fun little getaway, but it is not a particularly luxe hotel.

If you are going to stay in Capri, go to Anacapri. Even though it is further up from the Grand Marina, it's worth it. Take the bus when you arrive in the marina. The taxi will cost at least 25 euros, whereas the bus is 1.40 per person. Advantage with the taxi, the driver knew exactly where this hotel was in the dark and he pointed us in the right direction. It is hard to locate, but if you ask anyone, Dove Albergo Senaria, they will tell you too. There is no elevator, lots of steps, but not too bad. The staff will help you with your luggage. Bathrooms are small; loved our patio/deck.

The hotel is located close to many restaurants - all within walking distance. Walk to the bus stop that will take you down to the Grotta Azzura. Try to go earlier in the day, to beat the crowds coming off the main ferry. You can walk to the chair lift. When you arrive, and you need a dining suggestion, the receptionist will recommend their own restaurant down the street which is owned by the hotel. It's good, but overpriced. You'll see many restaurants further down the street that is cheaper.

We found a great cheese shop and a bakery on the same block. Easy to pack a picnic. Travel with your corkscrew.

Hotel has an amazing breakfast. Great coffee and cappuccino. Very nice staff.

Take the bus to the Faro, or lighthouse. Very romantic, bring a blanket and have your own picnic.

Stayed here for 3 summer nights, tried to extend but fully booked. Lovely little place, nice views and adequately furnished rooms and bathrooms. The small terraces with garden furniture in front of nearly every room are very nice and a pleasant place to spend an early evening with a book before going out to dinner.

No fancy amenities at this place, but friendly and helpful staff and a well run little hotel. Breakfast on the patio is very good, by Italian breakfast standards. Breakfast is not Italy's force, though.

Beware if travelling with strollers or elderly, there are a quite few steps to be mounted.

Location is quite good, Anacapri is quiet and pretty, and both buses and taxis are easy to hop on if you wish to go to the other side if the island.

There is no pool (few mid class hotels in Capri offer that), but a nicely furnished terrace and a small well tended garden. Nor is there a restaurant or café, but we borrowed a cork screw and wine glasses from the reception/bar and made our own pre dinner drinks on the lovely terrace. There are plenty restaurants in Anacapri to choose between.

A restaurant in Anacapri, 5 mins from the hotel, serves the best ravioli we have ever tasted.

We would gladly recommend this hotel, unless the rates go much higher, and hope to return there again! Capri is stunningly beautiful, small and easy to get around. Oh, and expencsve.

We stayed at the Albergo Senaria for one night in the beginning of October. This cute little hotel located right off the main road so it's very quiet. The location is very convenient for buses to the Blue Grotto, Capri Town and Marina Grande (where the ferry docks). I would highly recommend taking the buses. It may not be as comfortable as a cab, but it's only 1.20 Euro to anywhere on the island as opposed to 30 Euro for a cab! The hotel is also within walking distance to Mt. Solaro, Villa San Michelle and all the little boutiques in Anacapri. The family who owns the hotel also owns a resturant that's really close called La Rondinella that was very good for a nice mellow lunch. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the owners were very friendly and accomidating. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel!

We just returned from the most wonderful trip to Anacapri and stayed at the Senaria Hotel. We have family in Anacapri and came to visit for a family wedding. The hotel is so beautiful, spacious rooms with lovely tiled bathrooms, so clean and bright. The owners of the Hotel are so warm and friendly, greeted us every morning with their amazing cappuccino- I will never forget their wonderful hospitality.
There is a pretty outdoor eating area for breakfast, with fresh fruit and an assortment of pastries and breakfast breads in the morning.
Each room has an outdoor patio to relax and have a glass of wine and overlook a view of the island and water.
Vincenzo and family, I thank you so much for everything and we will be back next summer to visit. Ciao!

We contacted the hotel direct from its website and responses were very prompt.

Location: Anacapri, at the start of the historic center shopping/tourist street of Via Orlandi (which is real nice). Also very close to the Mount Solero chair life & the main Piazza Vittoria (all walking distance). Buses for Capri, Faro & the Marinas all stop right outside the hotel. (Anywhere on the island costs only Euro 1.30)

Rooms: Spacious, clean and obviously maintained. Every room has a private balcony - our room (#9) overlooked Mount Solero which was divine. The bathrooms, esp the shower was little cramped.

Breakfast & Staff: all excellent. Good contienntal breakfast with fressh croissants, cereal, coffeess, teas ... all staff VERY helpful, was very pleased.

Price. Well, given that in peak season Anacapri hotels charge more, and Capri hotels begin at Euro 200, we paid an average night rate of Euro 115 so was excellent.

Facilities: right outside the hotel are very good small stores (for convenience products) and also a great restarant (dinner for 2, Euro 40) with the best Capriciosa pizza.

Pictures: the pictures of the hotel on its website are very accurate and not photo-shopped at all.

  • Liked — Friendly atmosphere, very good location
  • Disliked — Bathrooms! Small.

also nicely located. Bus stops steps away. Note: I literally mean steps. But it not difficult to get to with luggage. It is quiet and yet a very pleasant walk to resturants and shops.
Staff very helpful, although I spoke to them in Italian.
The family run resturant is also very good.
I would absolutely stay there again.
