This review is from a stay in the past week, which was our second time to the property for a total of seven days.

There are few places on earth that evoke the sensation of staying at Caesar Agustus. Perched on the Anacapri cliffs over 1,000' above the azur waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Bay of Napoli, the view is regal and breathtaking.

Every detail is not only taken care of, it is perfected. From the warm and welcoming arrival, where you are greeted by owner Francesco Signorini and members of his team, to the thoughtful, evocative and professional tour of the property grounds and amenities, to the entry into your spotless and very well apportioned room, the introduction to the property could not be any better.

Most rooms have panoramic views over the sea below and the Italian coastline and islands in the distance. With vaulted and crown-molded ceilings, french-door opening to balconies, ultra-comfortable beds and pillows, and marble-laden and timeless bathroom areas, the rooms are large and divine. A bowl of fresh strawberries were delivered each midday, and turndown service was perfect each evening.

The back terrace is one of the unique and special vistas in all the world. Stretching for about 200' along the sheer cliff, the sensation looking out and down is exhilarating. With multiple seating areas, and attentive service for a coffee, cocktail or snack, the setting is idyllic. On Friday and/or Saturday, there is a complimentary champagne/bellini reception on the terrace with live music (singer and accompanying piano or guitar, both of whom were outstanding). Just inside the terrace in the main building are multiple seating areas, a wood-burning fireplace and secluded nooks to enjoy privacy, if desired.

Outside, just below and to the side of the terrace is a gorgeous restaurant that, again, sits perched on the cliffs. It includes several tables that sit extended out on a walkway, as if they are hovering over the cliff and sea. There is al fresco seating for both lunch and dinner and the menu, quality of food and wine selection are superb.

Breakfast is a lovely experience with delightful, attentive staff and a beautiful array of fruits, juices, breads and pastries, and warm and cold options amid a beautiful setting overlooking the pool area.

The pool. If you have searched for the top 10 hotel or resort pools in the world, you undoubtedly have seen the Caesar Agustus pool ranked high on the list. A two-level infinity pool that looks out to the horizon, one can get lost in relaxation all day with the attentive pool staff taking care of every need. The wellness area, steam room, and fitness area are nestled among the walking paths and gardens extending from the pool area and where, I believe, the restaurant staff select choice vegetables and herbs each day.

The overall property has a warm, family-owned feel with a sense of pride and desire to not only maintain it to the very highest standards, but to serve each guest as if they were an extended member of the Signorini family. It is a special experience to stay at the Caesar Agustus in all regards.

Finally, we cannot say enough about the staff at the Caesar Agustus. Their refinement, professionalism, attention to detail, and true sense of caring for their guests truly sets them apart. You will not find a tighter and more cohesive, world-class team anywhere in the world.

We cannot say enough about the property and the people at Caesar Agustus. All Hail Caesar!

Room tip: If able, rooms that overlook the sea are special. But all rooms are outstanding.

I swear, the employees here must of went to some private butler school. They are too good. Every detail has been thought out - the service was a phenomenal luxury. The only downfall is that this hotel is kind of far from Marina Grande and the main town of Capri. The owner greets every guest as they are checking in, the breakfast was the best layout I've ever experienced. This was worth every penny. Guisepe helped us check in and he was not only beautiful, but extremely knowledgable and catered to annything we could possibly need. The entire staff did, as a matter of fact!

This hotel is incredible! It was origianlly owned by a Russian Prince and has been run by the same family for the past 4 generations. The owners still great you when you arrive, and on Friday evenings they have a reception with the owners and the family welcoming you to their home. It is such a lovely feel when you consider what it is like to go to a "resort". The Casaer Augustus is true quality, the views are spectacular and are unrivaled. The staff is focused on your every need. Only issue -- and not a complaint is there are no irons in the room. You must send any clothes to be ironed to the staff and they take care of it. It is FREE which is great. But you should plan for several hours notice so they can deliver what you need during your trip. My advice is upon arrival given them several items and even some alternatives if the weather changes, that way you are prepared. We had a shift in plans and I needed something quickly pressed at 8am, but they couldn't accommodate since the laundry doesn't open until 9. So, plan ahead. All in all a 5 star experience and one of the best hotels we have ever been too! You won't be sorry.

Stayed here 7 days. Lovely older hotel within one block of the main square. Walking distance to all the main attractions. Breakfast was included. Hotel room had no water kettle to make my own coffee or tea in the morning

Dear Helga,

I tried to reach you many times in a privat way but it is very difficoult to have a conversation trough "Tripadvisor messanger"
Unfortunally WE ARE NOT THE HOTEL THAT YOU ARE REVIEWING: we are in Capri Island, while you were at the Caesar Augustus in Sorrento.
For this I think is correct you remove this review.

Thanks a lot

Francesco
