Owner description: The must-see attraction on Capri is the magical Blue Grotto, where visitors take a boat ride through a natural cavern that is filled with an ethereal and eerie light reflecting on the (very blue) water.

This is a must see event in a bucket list. I have been twice once forty years ago and more entry last year. Within four decades the water level to the entrance of the Grotto has risen to such an extent that one has to lie one hundred fifty degrees on a tiny boat to be able to get into the cave and see this wonder of the world.
It's worth it with the boat rowers sing their favourite opera pieces of music.

Crowd of little boats jostling among the larger boats. Your captain works to get a little boat to you, you agree the price, get on and go through very small gap (you lie down in the boat to get through this gap) and go into cavern. There are a few other little boats in the cavern as well. It is quite dark apart from the most beautiful blue colour reflecting within the water. Kids jumped in for a quick swim - they were laughing, a bit scared and saying it was freezing but all good. Four of us paid 35 euro to the little boat once we were out.

On the advice of friends, we took a small boat tour from a fishing village near Sorrento for a day-trip to Capri and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. We went via a waterfall and then out to Capri where our driver stopped for swimming off the island, before a few hours to explore the island and towns and then onto the Blu Grotto. Yes, it's expensive and crowded and quite the tourist operation, but the guides were lovely and it's one of those thing we'll remember forever as it is simply stunning. One word of caution though, when swimming watch out for jelly-fish. Four months later I still have the scars and the sting was excruciating..

The trip to Capri is one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. This is the playground for the very rich. Everything is expensive. Visiting the Blue Grotto is a very unforgettable experience for my wife and i. You will ride a fast boat and transfer to a smaller boat with a boatman near the entrance, we have to lie down flat on our back to enter the small entry of the grotto. You will hear all the boatmen singing O Sole mio ( hope got the title right ) inside. When you look at where you came from the reflection of the light is a beautiful blue spreading over the surface of the water, only 2-3 minutes only and the boat will have to go out again for the others to come in. The Blue Grotto is not always open, you will not know if it will be open or not when you visit it all depends on the level of the tide and weather. Lucky for us it is open.

We visited the Blue Grotto in June as part of a boat tour for a school group. It was exciting to see and so pretty. The island is beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the Blue Grotto by boat. It's a quick experience, but we took pictures and have memories of a beautiful cave!
