“The views make it worth it”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

The views are superb, the overall setting is upscale the food is good but not outstanding, the house wine was unfortunately not my favorite among those I tried in southern Italy despite what the waiter said . The service is excellent includes pick-up and drop-off. I think that it is overpriced but I may be wrong as I haven't been to that many restaurants Capri. Next time I would go for the views (especially to the 'other side' of the island), the philosoper's garden and a drink but would probably eat in a simpler place.

“Amazing view + great food = incredible experience.”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

One of the best views in Anacapri is from your table at Da Gelsomina. It overlooks an amazing coastline and the restaurants own wine vineyard. It's truly stunning. The food is just as good as the view. The raviolis are "to die for" as in if you had the chance you'd eat these until you exploded. No exaggeration. The dessert cakes are also a must.

“Stunning view, food mediocre”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

We was picked up by a shuttle bus to a restaurant with the most spectacular view over the ocean and the most beautiful sunset! Unfortunately did the food not really live up to our expectations though to all reviews on trpiadvisor. The starters: grilled octopus and seafood salad was okey but the main courses was not that good. The seafood risotto was just cocked rice with a little amount of seafood, and the most expensive meet dish was a dissapointment: tasted burnt and really hard to chew. We also had a pasta with Gorgonzola that had no taste of cheese and a pasta with smoked cheese and zucchini which easy the best dish of them all. The restaurant makes their own wine and the white wine was alright but not the best of Italian wines.. The staff and service was good but overall it was not our best dinner we've had. We paid just under 200 euro for four starters and main corses, two bottle of wine and three espressos.
The shuttle service and the view and sunset is worth it though..

“Hands Down! Best Meal of our Italy Trip!”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

AMAZING meal!!!! Our family of seven ate at Da Gelsomina for lunch during our visit to the Island of Capri and Anacapri. The food was absolutely delicious! Vegetables are grown in their own gardens and they produce their own wine which is preservative free. The rabbit in a wine sauce was superb! Homemade ravioli & fresh white fish from the Mediterranean Sea were also favorites. Seating on their outdoor terrace was delightful with views over the vineyard and sea. After lunch we took a stroll through their wooded park. The views were spectacular!!! Don't miss this jewel of a restaurant!

“Outstanding yet again.”

Deservedly the best restaurant on the island. Great staff, fabulous views, stunning menu and moreover excellent food. Not cheap, everything is of the highest quality, try the home brewed wine too, absolutely lovely. For the two of us, two starters (gorgeous grilled octopus), two mains (including mouthwatering fillet), one and a half bottles of their own Rose and a desert to share, around €100 total. Breathtaking sunset to go with it.

Just brilliant.
