“Fabulous”
Reviewed May 30, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We stayed in Villa Rosa for a week this May. The villa was beautiful both inside and out. The furnishings was tasteful and very well designed. The villa was clean and we had everything we needed. The beds were changed and clean towels provided after only 3 days. The outside pool area and garden were beautiful and clean and again maintained while we were there. I could have stayed there for ever - it was all fabulous. The owner met us there when we arrived and explained everything and kept in regular contact throughout the week helping us with ideas of where to go etc
I have stayed in many places and been on many holidays but this was the best ever. We will be returning!

“Absolutely fantastic”
Reviewed February 13, 2017 for a stay in August 2016

One of the best places I have ever visited.
The apartment is better than I expected. Clean, the services and the hospitality was outstanding. Mirtos is one of the best beaches at Kefallonia and you have to drive only 5 minutes.
The view is also great. It is a 100% value for money choice and I will be back there next summer for sure.

I don't know how can I be fair for such a treat. It is one of the best choices I ever made regarding the stay. The island is, of course, amazing. Damian, the owner, was very helpful during the arrangements and our stay. He lives in the island so he is never far away. whenever we needed him he was just a call away. The place is quite luxurius for such a low price, we had everything we needed.
The reason i, personally, chose it was because of its location. Agia Efimia is the perfect spot, with tiny, rocky beaches quite unique and isolated located 10' tops from the house. The house itself is in the mountain, sirene and peacefull with an amazing trail for hiking passing by. Though you feel alone and in peace you can find "civilization" in a 5' distance, where you can get everything you will in the local market.
Pretty close its the famous beach "Myrtos", voted to be the best beach in Europe for many years in a row. Magnificent with white pebbles and icy blue water. Beware your swimming there if it is windy, watch out for the flags (I prefered Agia Efimia to be honest).
Overall is a must stay either for a group of friends, such as we, or for a family.

We (2 adults and three girls from 10 to 17) stayed 9 days in Villa Rosa - and everything was great! We liked the house with its really excellent and comfortable rooms -each room is big, friendly and has air condition - but also the terrace, where we liked to eat or to drink a glass of wine or to play cards and were we really enjoyed each evening. The location of the house is very good, it's not far from Agia Efimia with its shops and restaurants and also not far from Sami, from where ferries to Ithaka leave (you should do this!) and we could also visit each day a different beach, one more beautiful than the other. We saw nearly each part of Kefalonia, although we didn't go by car longer than one and a half hour.
Rarly we met such a nice host like Damianos, after our arrival he showed us the best places from Kefalonia on the map,he helped us to find the best honey (so at breakfast we often think at him, while eating it) and oliveoil and he always cared about us.He bought everything, what we needed for the first days (milk, butter,, eggs, wine, fruits...). Very nice was also the Taverna Maklithari (also a tip of Damianos) in Makriotika, where we ate very fine Moussaka.

“Incredible house and location”
Reviewed August 24, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Villa Rosa is a magnificent home, perfect for unwinding and forgetting abot the world, the location is idyllic, you're completely secluded yet just 2km from Agia Effimia and its beaches, the location is also great to explore the northern part of the island (and there's a lot to explore!) including being20 mins away from Sami port where you can take quick ferries to other islands and day trips on a boat. The pictures don't do the view from the house justice, it's just magical to sit on the veranda and take in the valley and mountains around you, you don't want to leave. The decor and the finishes throughout the house are first class, total comfort. The best part of it all though is Damianos, difficult to imagine a more genuine and friendly host, he totally made our stay on the island and was there for every whim, gave us countless recommendations of places to go, he felt like our personal Kefalonia tour guide.

“Top property / high services”
Reviewed August 3, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I definatelly suggest this property for your vacation. The quality of materials, equipment and services were all perfect during our stay. The location is perfect too, because you are in the middle of Cephalonia, something very important to reach north and south place in one day. Also just 10min. driving from the best beach, Myrtos!
A must visit property!

“Beyond Excellent. A 7-star Experience!!”

How do I even begin to describe this fantastic property to do justice to the every detail that the Owner has thoughtfully put into it? We have stayed at many holiday rental properties before this but never have we stayed at one which is as comfortable and sufficient like Villa Rosa.

Villa Rosa stands side-by-side with another villa called Villa Vada, both belonging to the same owner, an enterprising young man by the name of Damianos. His parents had bought the abandoned buildings left from the 1953 earthquake and his father, a builder, had restored them meticulously to their current glorious state. His attempt to maintain the historical Kefalonian architecture was evident throughout the villa.

Situated on a cul-de-sac enveloped by olive trees, the villa provided us with the absolute privacy we were hoping for. Its elevated and unobstructed position gave us a commanding view of the astounding beauty surrounding the area. We (4 adults and 2 teenagers) spent 7 nights at the beautiful villa and did not want to leave by the end of our stay.

Damianos had met us at the ferry terminal at Sami (12km away) upon our arrival to show us the way to the villa. All along the journey, there were signposts showing directions to the villas at every turn and junction. All the 3 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin and 1 single) on the ground level have individual air-conditioners and the lower floor consists of a well-equipped kitchen and living room (which has a comfortable sofa which can be slept on), also with an air-conditioner. We dined mostly at the veranda outside the kitchen and even used the barbeque pit once.

In short, the villa’s design and décor is impeccably stylish and charming. However, what impressed us most are the tiny little details and thoughtfulness which Damianos has put in, to ensure utmost comfort for his guests. We were given luxurious toiletries, bedroom slippers, thick bathrobes and quality towels in different sizes – all equal to the standard of any 5-star hotels. Bottles of good quality wine produced by his family were also given to us for free to sample, coupled with some local delicacies, chocolate bars for the kids, fruits and even vegetables (“You will be tired and hungry by the time you arrive” – Damianos said).

The location of the villa is also perfect for our daily excursions around the island. It is merely 6km away from the famous Myrtos beach. The nearest ‘big’ village, Agia Effimia is only 4km away, where there are many restaurants, mini markets and shops to get your essentials.

We cannot find a single fault with this villa and can say for sure that our visit to Kefalonia was made more amazing by our stay here. This is a villa built for true comfort and not simply for making money. We have paid the same amount of money to stay at rental properties which provide much less than Villa Rosa. The effort which Damianos has put in for his guests needs to be applauded as he has gone beyond what was expected from so-called ‘self-catering’ rental properties like his. Throughout our stay, he had called and sent us messages to ask if everything is fine and to suggest places for us to visit, eat and swim. He even sent the cleaning ladies to clean the villa and changed the sheets and towels during our 4th day there!!

Staying at Villa Rosa is an experience in itself. We almost wanted to keep it a secret so that it will not be overbooked should we choose to return one day! Damianos told us he is thinking of building a pool to attract more guests and we hope he would not go ahead with his plan. With the best beach in the world (Myrtos) just minutes away, there is no need for a man-made pool to spoil the exquisiteness of the villa and its surroundings.

P/S: Oh! I forgot to mention that he also put lavender bags under the pillows to ensure that we all have a good night sleep.
