My friend and I booked a weeks holiday, not expecting much except a clean bed and some decent food, but we didn't even get that! Bed linen was grey and unironed so we weren't sure if the bed had just been vacated. No welcome from staff and only hot water between 10 am and 6pm. Food was aweful and served from an area where dirty dishes were placed on a shelf above. The only snacks were popcorn or stale broken biscuits and pool/garden area littered with rubbish. Drinks so watered down they were unrecognisable as what they were pertaining to be. No entertainment on site or nearby so we were in bed by 8-30pm. Would NEVER go there again!

Room Tip: Go elsewhere!!!

We stayed here the first 2 weeks of September. You get what you pay for and that's true here.
It wasn't too bad, lack of meal choices, but it is a small hotel, drinks are practically non alcoholic, but if you are drinking all day at least it rehydrates.
The owner and staff are very helpful and want to do their best to ensure you have a good stay. Any problems were sorted out promptly and with a smile.
The rooms are kept very clean no complaints there.
The weather was great, the pool was also very clean, but there is a poor choice of sun beds, here is a tip, don't forget to pack a towel for use by the pool, there are none available in the hotel for that use, also there are only 6 sun loungers with cushions, so get out there early.
You will survive on the food, but at these prices you can take a 20 min stroll into afando and treat yourselves.
Take advantage of free shuttle bus and try the local beach, sun loungers are available to hire, and the golf club house is reasonably priced for drinks and a ham and cheese toastie.
Overall a budget experience, so fits the bill.

I am not a fussy holiday maker and I am well known at home as able to eat anything. This beat me!! No complaints about the room which was on a high floor, so I am pleased that I requested this, as the front of the hotel, the ground floor view is a fence and car park. There was no hot water for the shower until 11am -17.00pm, so the morning shower was cold, and after a day on the beach it was back to a cold shower.
We went all inclusive. The drinks are very weak. You had to take your glass back before you were served another drink. We did not use the lunch time meal, but the breakfast was poor with a choice of boiled egg(sometimes scrambled) cocktail type sausages and some sort of fried luncheon meat. Thank goodness for the baked beans. I believe the yoghurt was made up from a powder. The only saving grace was the lovely coffee and madeira type cake; unfortunately this was taken off the breakfast menu half way through our stay. The bread could sink a ship!!.
Evening meal was a challenge, after the 'eager early birds' had ransacked the buffet, there was only bones in gravy, or as we named it 'carcass of lamb', bits of pork and fat, pasta, rice and a bit of bolognese sauce.
The salad was tomatoes and cucumber, someone asked for lettuce and was rewarded with a handful. The tzatseiki was taken off half way through the week so apart from slices of tasteless cheese and ham, the rest was left to imagination.
We knew this holiday was going to be cheap and we thought cheerful, there was little cheer from the staff, not a smile from the bar staff. A bit of music around the pool would have made a big difference.
We were expected to return our dishes to the serving area, and dirty dishes, knives and forks were placed on the shelf above where the food in the hot dishes was being dished out.
We will not be going to Greece again on 'all inclusive 'and I feel that this hotel should be taken out of the holiday brochures.

Room Tip: A higher floor facing sea or pool. Not the ground floor by any means.

We stayed at the hotel for the week 19th - 26th September, having only paid just over £300 each and having read the reviews we were not expecting too much. Yes there are some faults to be pointed out but overall it was very good for the money.

We opted for the cheapest flights departing gatwick around 9pm on wednesday night and getting to the hotel about 5am, then departing rhodes at around 4am thursday 27th, getting back to gatwick about 5.30am. Like i said this was our choice, we could have had better flight times for a higher price, but this would not have included transfers and baggage.

Our flights with Strategic were fine, nice comfortable seats, on time, little lacking in leg room but that is the norm.

Our transfer from the airport was a little long winded and took about an hour, on arrival at the hotel we were dropped off at the bottom of the hill up to the hotel, got checked in by George and shown to the room by the owner.

All facilities were closed in the hotel, but had expected this and packed a few snacks to eat.
In the morning, went down to breakfast - perfectly ok, english breakfast, little sausages bit like hot dogs, bacon a bit like spam, eggs and beans, then bread, cheese, lunchon meat tea and coffee.
Maybe not exactly an english breakfast, but we are not in england, we are in greece.

First minor problem (although we had read this online before going) there was no hot water until around midday, but combine this with not being allowed to flush paper down toilet and having to put it in a bin that when you put your foot on the pedal only opens 8 or 10cm so you need to use a hand to hold it open, then having done this there not being any hot water to wash your hands.

We kept paper to a minimum and flushed it away.

The rooms are large and had all we needed, found a german tv channel that was mostly in english, fair sized under counter like fridge that kept everything really cold (better than our fridge at home)
You are asked if you would like to pay extra for the air conditioning, we didn't bother and just kept the room door and balcony door open with a window in the corridor open.

We ate some lunchtimes and every night and the food was fine, never a night where we didn't find anything we liked, maybe wouldn't have picked the dish if we were given more choice, but the food was perfectly ok.

There was supposed to be snacks mid morning and mid afternoon - this was popcorn at the start of the week and nothing towards the end, but with only 3 hours between breakfast and lunch and 5 hours between lunch and dinner you were not exactly left hungry!!

Drinks were limited to one at a time, with a choice of soft drinks, beer, wine, some spirits, cocktails and mixers. Some were complaining that the drinks weak and watered down, but personally can't comment as I don't drink, partner drank the beer that they liked and the wine that was ok at the start of the week wine being dry, but then went to medium sweet - probably a low gravity too, but we had a wine box in the fridge in the room anyway.
Also some were complaining when the all inclusive drinks until 11pm rule was ended at 10.55pm.

We looked online before we left and found the room cost about £6 each self catering and £17 each all inclusive, so considering that it cost us 18 euros in rhodes for 2 ham (luncheon meat) baguettes and 2 soft drinks, £17 a day for all inclusive is very good value.

We paid the 30 euros to keep the room on after 12pm on the day of checkout until 10pm, which was well worth it, if only to be able to have a rest, get a shower etc as we where being picked up at midnight

If you choose not to pay extra for late checkout there are toilets and a shower room in the basement you can use, also if staying all inclusive the drinks and food continue beyond the 12pm checkout and is still valid until 11pm as normal.

I would stay here again if a similar price, but then it would the airfare that put the price up anyway.

Would hire a car next time to be able to explore inland as the bus service, whilst cheap, is mainly along the coast road.

Room Tip: Avoid eating in the square in rhodes old town where they have parrots outside, even just off the square is expensive.

Stayed at the Golf View from the 19th-26th Sept and wouldn't personally go back. The hotel isn't in the best location and the rooms aren't the best (We had live electrical wires hanging out of the socket in ours which we reported and were told would be looked into but never was) The towels were hard and didn't look clean and the bedsheets weren't the cleanest. Total lack of choice food wise too so if you go, go self catering. It was either pasta or pasta and in a week I think Spag Bol was served 5 times. Also the salad choice consisted of tomatoes and cucumber with the occasional bit of lettuce thrown in. You also have to pay for air-con and the drink choices were poor. However the pool area was nice and met some lovely people and overall had a good holiday.
