Reviewed February 6, 2014

I am a single father vacationing with my 6 yr old here. We stayed 2 nights, hotel itself is nice and park was closed so we spent all the time in pool and always ate in the hotel. The night beofre check out at 7 pm, going to dinner and they reject to give us a table because they are too busy! I told the host Daniel there are tables free and just place the order of ravioli for my daughter she is hungry and the answer was "sorry, I dont have capacity to serve". Asked for the manager Mr. Arnie Weimann, and still we get rejected. We ordered any way to take to room. 4 minutes pass and while waiting 2 couples stand at the host desk and both Mr. Arnie and Daniel, seat both couples on two of the free tables. One couple had checked in today and we talked with them at the pool all day, they had no reservations.

I find absolutely amazing that a hotel staff would reject serving even a single child order of Ravioli because they are busy and 2 minutes later they seat another 4 adults without reservations.

We got the ravioli wrapped in aluminum foil on a tray to take to room and no bill with a " sorry"!!!!

I insisited to pay and did.

Total dissrespect !!!!, first to reject to serve me and my child and second offering the food for free. Someone should train Mr. Arnie and Daniel that nothing is to be traded for respect.

I can only conclude that demand for accommodation for those attending the theme park must be very high, because this hotel has some quirks that in other circumstances might be a problem.

The architectural premise of the hotel is confusing. It appears to be an interpretation of what the Colosseum/vague notions of Italian antiquity might have looked like if a non-Italian and a tract house designer got together with a small budget and not a lot of taste between them. Ick.

The guest rooms are set up to accommodate families and groups with multiple beds, however the bunk beds in our room were so poorly designed (into a wagon wheel-ish shape, but apparently there are many other variations that are just as awful) you feel as if you are behind bars once you crawl into them. Also, the top bunk was quite low, so an adult sitting up in the bottom bunk hits their head on the top bunk - not great. Our room was designed to accommodate four people, however it was a good size for two of us and we used one of the bunk beds to hold a bag. With four people it would definitely feel cramped.

Rooms facing the interior courtyard are definitely the way to go. These get a view of the nightly water feature show and are less noisy overall, however there is no way to avoid the noise from the corridor, which is extremely loud (eg: when people roll their bags along to check in or out, which occurs every morning from quite early on) due to the tiled floors.

Just in case you are thinking of splashing out on a suite, really do your research. From what I could see on the hotel plan, some of the suites have been placed next to the lift wells (constant source of noise) or in the "colosseum arches", which just happen to face right onto the main road going to Europa Park - bizarre from a noise perspective.

Happily, Europa Park itself is a great place to visit, with a wonderful range of rides.

Room Tip: Perhaps one of the authentic German hotels in Rust proper?

I know it's Europa park, and my kids loved it. So I m happy too ;) Hotel is ok, Room are not very big for a familly of 4, but are ok and kids loved the bed with Horses. We had unfortunately a room on the side of the road, so ver noisy. Hotel is Noisy too, you hear all the noises from the corridor. The breakfast is a disaster with such a big crowd running around and kids crying and shouting everywhere (Yes I have kids too). We had a dinner at the Cesare, Which I tough would be a bit better quality. The place is nice, but the food was very average. The Tortellini were a catastoph (ok we did not payed them) and the rest was just not ok, but not really italian style. They did mistake on the bill. The checkout was also not a real friendly experience. Computer were out and a very long queue of people. PLenty of things to improve to make a real good experience not only for the kids but also for the parents. Thanks

Have enjoyed two amazing visits to Europa-Park. You could easily spend several days here. The Colosseo Hotel is beautifully presented and there's lots of other accommodation choice on the Park too. Incredible shows, rides, theming, gardens, everything impeccably clean every time we visited and very good food too.

Stayed 3 nights. The hotel is amazing with a brilliant show every evening. Buffet breakfast very nice. On the negative side, the room is very warm even with the window open and extremely noisy. It would be a good idea if there were more attendants to welcome breakfast guests to avoid queues

It was already the second time in one year that we stayed in the Colosseo Hotel in Europapark.
And again we can't say anything bad about the hotel.
If I must give one comment: there's no airconditioning in the rooms, and when we arrived the windows were closed. The first night it was difficult to sleep because of the temperature.
But besides that everything was very good.
Breakfastbuffet is the best we've ever had!

Hotel is situated at a 5min walk from the park.
You can take a small tunnel between the other (Spanish-themed) hotels. There you can find a side entrance to the park. This is mostly used by the hotel guests.
The room is spacious and very comfortable. You can choose between a 4-bed, 6-bed and a 8-bed room. There is no AC in the room.

Check in is very chaotic! We arrived at 10 o'clock and there were a lot of people. Rooms are normally ready at around 15.30pm. You can leave your luggage in a storage room and enjoy your day in the park.

Staff is very friendly and helpfull.

Furthermore you also have a nice pool are (indoor & outdoor), with seperate parts for children.
Also a nice spa area, which is really tranquil. Solarium is €3 per 15minutes

We had dinner in the buffet restaurant of hotel Bell Rock. Ask for a table at the outdoor deck, if the weather is nice. When sun sets they give fountain shows, with music and lights. The buffet is very posh, one of the best buffets I had.

Breakfast in hotel Colosseo is very rich. You have a lot of choice. You can also sit on the terrace if the weather is nice.

Parking is for free, just next to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on Bell Rock, they are situated more quietly Standard rooms on the 3th fl...
