“Fantastic hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

Very nice hotel. When you pay the amount of money they ask for, you expect a lot and this hotel delivers on all counts. The design is awesome and every where from the exterior to the interiors look and feel high quality. So in terms of value for money, it is excellent.

The ambience of the place is very different to anywhere we have stayed before (in a very nice way!). The hotel is busy but we didnt feel the standard of service go down because of this. In fact, we were there on the evening of the Germany - Greece qf at Euro 2012 and a giant screen had been installed in the piazza and the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff coped up very well with the crowds and the eveining was great fun.

The room itself was very well appointed with a rustic ancient feel. The construction materials and the decor bring a nice charm to the room. The separate area with the bunk beds for kids is a nice touch - our daughter really enjoyed it.

The spa and pool are also up to the mark and the staff are very courteous. The piazza area is also very nice to have a drink after a tiring day at the park.

You can reserve a table for dinner at any of the hotels - they are all close by - and the menus are available at the reception. We tried the buffet at the Castillo and again were not let down. Beautiful decor, wonderful choice anf taste of food (including a barbecue), efficient service and nice live music.

Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise - it was crowded but the seating area is huge and the way the service is structured is brilliant - you dont really feel that the place is crowded. Euromaus and friends turned up at breakfast to keep the little ones happy too!

The entrance to the park is very convenient and there are a couple of restaurants just across the entrance if you fancy dinner there.

One last point - contrary to some reviews I read either here or on booking.com, the room did have A/C

Positives - location, hotel itself, service, food, spa, pool, overall experience
Negatives - cant think of any.

Room Tip: If you're not booking a suite, go for a piazza view room on the 4th floor.

A great place with nice room and a perfect spa. The basic room is big enough and very clean. Close to Europa Park with a "secret" entry to the park BUT this hotel is very very very busy. If you go there to eat it is so crowded and noisy.
For the breakfast same battle!

It was my first big experience with complex of hotels each designed for another country. And since Italy is my favorite country I just loved this hotel. First of all the shape of Colloseo is very-nice thought. From the distance it really looks like the real one. Good restaurant with wide menu. Was a real pleasure to spend a few nights there.

This hotel was shared an entrance to the park. It was exclusive for the hotel guests. It was a nice touch. Hotel does have things for the kids to do on the main floor. I do recommend making reservations for dinner ahead of time as it can be very busy. They mainly offer buffet so you have to definitely do a reservation for the a la carte menu. You can also do reservations at the hotels that are right there in the area as well. They also have goats for the kids to pet.

Sauna/Steam Room is co-ed and they do believe in being completely nude while in the area. You can wear your swim wear but just know they may frown on that.

Hotel is based off of Italy theme. The rooms have bunk beds built into the walls which are really nice.

The suites are even nicer/bigger and sleeps up to about 6 people in the smaller suites.

Room Tip: Rooms at the beginning of the halls that are closest to the stairs/elevator are the loudest due the...

I've stayed here twice now in the suites in their 'colosseum arch' during conferences and they're very well decorated and comfortable. The ceased and cleopatra suite in particular is a very nice design. However, the suite is very warm in the sun and the air conditioning is useless in all three individually controlled zones of the suite.

Both years we've spent a lot of time using the hotel services and in particular the Bar Colosseo when busy is a mess. The waiters/waitresses are extremely disorganised, rude, unhelpful and very very slow if you're lucky enough to manage to place an order. I can understand them being overwhelmed the first time, but this is the same conference a year later and they've clearly not learned from their past mistakes. The service in the cafe near the hotel reception and the restaurant antica roma is better but still far from a high quality service. Perhaps my service expectations are too high for a conference held in a theme park.

The park is located in the middle of nowhere, but more than worth the effort of making the trip! And so is hotel colosseo. Everything is just perfect. It feels like Italy the moment you step into the hotel. The employees are dressed like ancient Romans in toga. Everybody is very friendly and helpfull. When you step out on the other side of the hotel, you are in an Italian Piazza with the Colosseum at the end. When staying in this hotel you have to go and take a swim in the pool at the base of the Colosseum. Magical. The inside area of the pool is like the Roman Thermae. Towels are at your disposal. The restaurants are all Italian. You can choose from the buffet of go to the more luxurious restaurant with table service. The room is also very Roman like. We had one with a double bed and a bed in 2 stories with horses at the side. everything matches the theme. In the evening you can go to the bar at the rooftop. Go to the bathroom to hear the Ferrari's start (!) and enjoy the view over the park at night. You can also go to the festival on the square behind the hotel where the fountains work their magic on the rithme of the music. We enjoyed the show of Cleopatra with dancers and acrobats. The hotel is in walking distance of the thema park back entry. There is also a train (tram ?) station that brings you to the main entry is you would prefer.

During our 3 days in the EuropaPark (see other review for hotel El Andaluz) we spent one night in this hotel. It is built in an Italian style and has several Italian Restaurants. There's a pool (partly covered and inside the building) as well as a nice sunbathing area. The staff is friendly and efficient and the hotel has its own access to the park. The rooms are large, well equipped and superbly clean. Bit expensive however.
