A wonderful place deep in the beautiful French countryside. The Manoir is charming and very comfortable. Feels like staying with family. Soissick had a wood fire and dinner waiting for us as
we arrived late and tired. She is an excellent cook. Her flan knock us out. Our room had two large
beds with delightful antique bed frames. The grounds show off the natural beauty of the area. Stay here
you won't regret it!

We stopped here en-route to calais. The house, is amazing from the outside although a little faded from within. The room was spacious and comfortable, although a little cold on the evening we were there. We opted for a room with a bath. However, this was not particularly pleasant to use since the enamel flaked away from the bath when it was filled with water.

Since we had been travelling a long way, we opted for a meal. The was a little disappointing but did the job. The meal includes wine - however, it should be noted that only red wine is served. My wife asked for red wine which seemed to make the host quite unhappy.

Generally the host did not seem particularly welcoming nor obliging and for that reason we are unlikely to return.

Room Tip: I would suggest selecting a room with a shower.

Of our three stopovers in France this summer, my family has voted this one the top choice! Not for its ultra-modern bathrooms or convenient location (both the others scored better for that side of things) but for the utterly perfect experience of being welcomed into a famiily home that has tons of character, individuality and enchanting ambience. It's quite a long way off the autoroute (there were a few grumbles towards the end of our long, hot car journey although the stunning scenery and virtually car-less roads were beginning to work their magic by the time we arrived!) but well worth the detour. Other reviewers talk about "faded elegance" and that just about sums the house up. Soisick prepared an informal buffet supper for us and the other family staying, including aperitif and wine, for 30 euros, which we ate outside to make the most of the warm evening. A fantastic way to feel more integrated with the French - conversing with the owners and other guests - although we actually chose to ate separately, having shared an aperitif together, in order to make the most of precious family time together. The large room was very comfortable (very comfortable bed) as was the bathroom (although not everyone will appreciate the quirky bath and shower contraption!). Breakfast was very good. We'd happily return on another occasion.

This gorgeous old manor house is almost in the middle of nowhere (but actually within an hour's drive of Dijon). Good if you want quiet and relaxation. Good 4 course meals for 30 Euros a head - luckily as there are not many other options nearby! Rooms are big and outlook is great but slight air of faded glory.
