Well, perhaps a bit over the top, but this was a fine restaurant, even if a little chilly in the winter. But a year or so ago, we were devastated when it closed and the premises looked dead and abandoned (no, no flames) for a long time. Keeping a business, any business, going out here in rural Brittany is quite a task. There are many villages around with population in the hundreds, there is one village with a maire and a population of 110. Paimpol itself has 8200 inhabitants, so customers are in short supply and have to be shared around with a number of other competitors.
So much for the background. Suffice to say that the new H de la M is every bit as good as the last one, and even the heating was up to spec. Not that February was very hard this year. The food is quite as excellent as ever, the service amiable and attentive. As usual, the wine list makes one gulp! but that is normal for Brittany... in fact for restaurants across Europe.
You will not be disappointed by this hostellery unless they take a dive again!
