“Amazing 12th Century Caves”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

A must see, the caves are from the 12 th century, the entry is in an old moat and you can buy the wine. They (the owners) take you on a ten min tour, followed by a video in English. The wine is good and affordable sample packs sell along side vintage cases. They'll deliver a cross Europe. We visited on a rainy January day with snow on the ground and are very glad we did.

“A nice surprise and a MUST SEE in St Emilion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2012 via mobile

We walked all over St Emilion and stumbled onto Maison Galhoud and their fantastic caves...in which row after row of oak barrels coexist with stacked bottles being aged. The caves alone are worth a visit.
They sell direct to you and pack bottles neatly into a three bottle container. Unfortunately not available in the US, you can bring it home for later enjoyment. They prouce and sell a Grand Cru 2007 that is exceptional now and for seven or eight more years in the bottle.
Entrance is free, the staff are professional, well dressed and handsome, and perfectly fluent in English. We brought three bottles home to Texas with us packed carefully in luggage.
