“Good, reasonably priced crepes in a warm atmosphere. Nice patio too.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 29, 2012

Visited this relatively off the beaten path creperie to get away from the typical busy establishments in Saint-Emilion for brunch. Our large group of found 3 tables on their patio overlooking the medievil town and church. The prices were good and the crepes were excellent. They had a nice selection of ciders as well which made some in our group happy. Would recommend this place for good french crepes and a unique atmosphere.

“Nice crepes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2012

Weren't the best I've ever had, but it was a nice place to go, relaxed, cheerful, friendly service. Not nearly as 'upmarket' and rigid as many other places in St. Emillion, I enjoyed our meal.

“Tasty crepes at very reasonable prices (lunch menu EUR9!)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2011

Description from the Saint-Emilion tourism board website: An old blacksmith workshop turned to a Breton creperie, open all year long. In winter, enjoy sweet'n'salted crepes by the fireplace. Other choices of various salads, cold meats, foie gras, cheeses, lampreys...

We chanced upon this place as we were walking uphill along rue gaudet and decided to stop here for a light lunch. It was not crowded around 1pm on a Monday. We chose the lunch menu which is extremely reasonable at only EUR9 for 2 crepes (savoury + sweet):
- Savoury (3 choices): beef (& bechemel sauce if I recall correctly), complet (ham, cheese & mushrooms, topped off with a sunny side up), or cheese (suitable for vegetarians)
- Sweet (2 choices): confiture (choice of jam) or sucre (sugar)

We were 2 persons so we ordered 1 of each crepe to try (except the beef one). The complet crepe was really tasty with fresh good quality ingredients. Found the cheese one a bit too dry and plain, but it was tasty too. Sucre crepe was also a bit plain but the confiture was a nice simple end to the meal. Total bill including an orangina and a cola came up to ~EUR23 (which we rounded up to EUR25).

I would encourage you to order crepes from the a la carte menu as well, there are a lot more choices, at very reasonable prices.

This place is run by a young couple. Cosy and rustic decor with an open kitchen where you can see the lady preparing the crepes. According to a French food blog, she comes from Brittany (Bretagne). The gentleman can speak English. The restaurant is small (about 8 tables) and there is also a smallish terrace (3-4 small tables) with a nice view of some rooftops as it is located on an incline.

Only a 350m walk downhill (this is according to google maps) or less than 1 min drive from the tourism office, yet it seems far away from the hectic crowd in the pedestrinised streets near the tourism office and church. Do give this place a try!

Street parking can be found along rue gaudet or the big car park at the bottom of rue gaudet (free during lunch 12-2pm).

P/S sorry for the bad quality of the pics, my camery battery died and I only had my iphone 3gs on me. There are much better pics on the Saint-emilion tourism website (look under restaurants then theme restaurants).
